NotTheMarketLeader Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 Don't try and go toe to toe with arguably the best footballing side in the league.Don't agree.Easy to say that now after a loss, but previous experience over the last 14 months tells us that we will not generally succeed using a defensive approach. The truth is yesterday when Vards headed against the bar (after previously hitting the post) we would have 2-0 up and deservedly so. The whole game would have been different, and maybe we would have gone on to win. The point being, we gave ourselves every chance against one of the top teams in Europe, at half time for us to be behind was not a fair reflection of the play imo. We stuck to our own style and in the end got beat which I accept as fair enough. That is the way I want is tackle the whole season, not setting out to shut teams down, only to negate our own qualities. Continue in the same vein as we have started the season and we ought to be finishing higher than last season's 14th which would be mission accomplished. Negative football could kill the atmosphere we have been trying (and succeeding) to generate. I, and I'm sure many others want the adrenaline rush at home games of an attacking side, offering great entertainment in an atmospheric stadium, and that is what we have at the moment.
Furtle Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 Agree with all of that. So how do we replace Cambo ... Or can we get him back .. Don't laugh ... The guy loves to be loved so why not have the next big flag saying " Esteban we love you please come back !" ... I'm filling up thinking about it Steady Countryfox, carry on like that & you'll be giving that stout fella next to you a peck on the cheek...
Countryfox Posted 28 September 2015 Author Posted 28 September 2015 Don't get me involved !! .... And do some work !
MrSpaM Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 Think we've learned there is no way we'd win the champions league atm
Oxfordfox83 Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 - We play great football and can score against anyone. - RDL gets a lot of undeserved stick-he's an attacking full back, but he looked good in defence covering an out of sorts Huth (who was uncharacteristically poor). - Vardy is looking tremendous-clever finishes in pressure situations bode very well. - No one's going to be triggering Mahrez's £50m release clause. - We are getting close to knowing our strongest 11. - Kante is very very good. - If we keep this up, it's going to be a hell of a season for the fans... This is the thin end of a wedge that occasionally chucks up Leicester 5-3 Utd. I'm happy we play great football.
