RobHawk Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Coulda woulda shoulda. It's ok talking about the ifs buts and maybe's but we need to deal with what happened. I get that, but I'd rather the mindset of going for it, even if we do lose compared to the boring guff west brom fans have to endure. It's a mentality, and I'm happy we are giving it a good go against all the teams!
sdb Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 When you go 1 up against an unbelievable counter attacking side, don't continue to go all out attack!
Countryfox Posted 26 September 2015 Author Posted 26 September 2015 When you go 1 up against an unbelievable counter attacking side, don't continue to go all out attack! But we nearly went 2 up !! 3 hours later and still can't believe we didn't ...
sdb Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 But we nearly went 2 up !! 3 hours later and still can't believe we didn't ... We nearly went 2-0 AND 2-1 up...but found ourselves conceding 10 seconds later on both counts and that's the harsh reality of taking risks against these teams I think our game management still needs work
Saxondale Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 One up front never works. Never. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.

Hate to say anything good about any other team but Arsenal did look a cut above .... Best team I've seen at our place for a while
Dan Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Don't try and go toe to toe with arguably the best footballing side in the league. This is ultimately it for me. I'm all for positive football but we need to be a bit more intelligent about it. My worst fear from here is that we change our approach to being more defensive in games like next week.

Unfortunately I just think we need to be a bit more safe & boring at times.
foxfanazer Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 That we must not rest on our laurels That we may need to play 3 centre backs, at least against the top teams Kante and Vardy are godlike creatures Drinkwater is firmly eestablishing himself as a premier league centre mid Arsenal are decent
Captain... Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 It's all weller54's fault he started a Rachel thread without a picture. Or maybe Rachel has deserted us, time for the Carol Vorderman appreciation thread.
weller54 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 It's all weller54's fault he started a Rachel thread without a picture. Or maybe Rachel has deserted us, time for the Carol Vorderman appreciation thread. OK OK... I accept full responsibility!.. I'm sorry!..
ozleicester Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 Arsenal are a fvcking good side. It's all weller54's fault he started a Rachel thread without a picture.Or maybe Rachel has deserted us, time for the Carol Vorderman appreciation thread. Im dumping Weller54... not sure about Rachel
katieakita Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 We have learned against "big teams" the "little teams" still don't get the big decisions, the Rugby World cup had come early with some of his decisions. We can create chances against a very good side chasing a game.

Guest Col city fan Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 City supporters are ungrateful whingers. I think we are generally grateful to Pearson, to Ranieri and to the players FIF. That doesn't preclude however having concern about how we are defending as a unit. For those who cared to see, we predicted how yesterday would go. Personally I won a nice few quid on Arsenal coming from behind to get the win because I strongly suspected goals in the game. We are defensively wide open and to really get something out of this season, we must address this.
Countryfox Posted 27 September 2015 Author Posted 27 September 2015 So not many plus points. Considering what happened yesterday I'd say we've learnt quite a bit ..... So, we now need to do something to address those points ... We could make a start by taking Rachael back
Strokes Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 If we are going to lose, id rather lose in a game like this, than whimper to a 1 or 2-0 defeat with no attacking intent. We aren't west brom, we don't have pulis, we can enjoy defeats as well as draws and victorys. It was a good game of football.
teblin Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 Drinkwater, kante, vardy were still pretty good yesterday. We have 2 of the divisions tip scorwrs. We are 6th in the league. We have more points now than we had on boxing day. Lots of plus points.
Happy Fox Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 We lost one game to a team who are going to be challenging for the title. No hard feelings. It's all about survival for me, first and foremost and when u look at the league table it sure feels good to be 8 points clear of Villa, 9 points clear of Newcastle and 10 clear of Sunderland. At this stage of the season.
davieG Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 Considering what happened yesterday I'd say we've learnt quite a bit ..... So, we now need to do something to address those points ... We could make a start by taking Rachael back I referring more to the topic which was going more negative by each post than actual plus points from the match.
Corky Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 1. We started the game very well which we haven't done in a league match for a while. The first 15/20 minutes was excellent and we put them under real pressure. 2. We didn't just resort to kicking them around, we tried to play football and create chances in a tough situation. Heads didn't drop. 3. Vardy scored two lovely goals. 4. Drinkwater had a fine game and looks back to his 2013/14 best. 5. Kante is a really good acquisition.
