SemperEadem Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Anyone a member of any of the branches? Is there still a time and a place for them? Reading older programmes they seem to have been quite big business. The main Leicester branch seems to be ruled by the Ginnetta mob

loAf Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 i contacted the club a year or so ago about setting one up out here, but they said they were still discussing the issue and would let me know once they had a structure in place. Never heard anything back tho.
Bayfox Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 A guy called Lance tomlyn used to run an independent supporters club. But I wouldn't know if was still going. I remember back in the 80s and 90s London had its own branch. Used to be a lot of members come up on the train for games. And I think they even had a Sunday morning 11 a side team that played against other supporters branches in the capital.
Spudulike Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 I'm a life member of the Leicester branch. It only cost a £5'ver in the mid-70's. Used it occasionally to get into the Supporters Club Corner at Filbo when other parts of the ground were sold out. Still got my membership card. There was a bloke called Tony (?) that ran the Looga-baroo-ga branch.
Voll Blau Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 There'll always be a place for supporter organisations, though whether that's in an official capacity or independent from the club I don't know. Certainly don't feel represented by almost anything Ginnetta says. Be good to see better organisation of Leicester supporters on a regional/local basis as there's an awful lot of good fellow fans could do to help each other. Always amazes me when I go over to Germany how nigh on everyone you meet is in some kind of supporters club, even if it's just them and a bunch of four or five mates they'll have a name for themselves and a banner to take to games. Still, guess that sort of thing's ripe for the pisstaking in England.
