Subs were forced really. Keeping Mahrez on would have been pointless and Wasyl was our only RB cover. The only thing i'd have done differently is keep Shinji on.

 

 

Shinji has usually run out of gas by the 70'. That's why he's always subbed off. It seems like every time we don't win the right thing to do would be to "keep Shinji on" even though he's rarely shown the stamina to go 90'.

 

We were down to 10 men. We needed to defend in 2 banks of 4 to keep the formation. Mahrez can't defend so he's gone. Shinji doesn't fit in the formation so he's gone. That's another thing I don't understand about all of the "changes that should have been made" because they rarely have any respect for the formation or Arsenal's ability to exploit space.

Spot on. I agree 100%.

Okazaki usually runs out of gas at the 70th minute mark, and Mahrez can't defend. And we don't have enough of the ball to utilise Mahrez attacking assets, so he had to be go.

Gray is lightweight and inexperienced but Mahrez is also lightweight and can't be trusted to defend properly. It was a total cluster**** and Ranieri did what he could do considering the circumstances and personnel.

People are forgetting we were 10 seconds away from a draw.
