Leicester City fans based in the Royal Marines have managed to get a newly commissioned Submarine named after our cult figure former reserve keeper. It began when Officers mentioned the need for suggestions for the new submarine, the headline on the internal mail "What's a good name for a sub" Was too tempting to resist. The two fans cheekily wrote down "Conrad" and submitted the suggestion to their superiors who unaware of the irony passed it onto the next round of voting. By now support had been encouraged throughout the ranks as our success was appreciated by previous neutrals. A tag line of "Goes down gracefully, returns triumphantly" refers to our brief spell in league 1 and a further tag line "Will be available for action at all times" is another ironic dig at his long spell as back up keeper. An impressive achievement, beating the proposed bench in Abbey Park funded by a supporters group, for its sheer size and cumbersome shape, discovering new waters, something the man himself was reluctant to do.

It was actually quite amusing, but I don't know why there is this obsession with ruining April fools jokes by massively signposting the fact it is an April Fools.

 

Take this bit out "model 1-4 PRILALOOF" and it almost could have been believable.
