Thracian Posted 19 September 2005 Author Posted 19 September 2005 He was in Canada for the pre season period apparently and even more recently as well so he isn't fit yet. Think it was made clear a few days after we signed him that with Hammond doing well that CL was going to give him time to get properly fit. I watched him play at Hinckley and he looked fitter and kener than anyone in the club.
Katy Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 Someone on the forum was grumbling about his having played three games without a goal (as if it's not much of a return) and adding that he needs to play a full game. I can't be bothered to go through all the threads again to find it. If I come across it accidentally then I'll say where. And, for what it's worth it's another example of Levein's negativity that he should sign a guy to help replace an outgoing forward and then doesn't put him (properly) into the team for a month. There was sod all wrong with his fitness when he played for the reserves and it's not as if we're winning every week and playing wonderfully well. What the hell had he got to lose by playing one of his best players?. By the time he does play he'll probably wish he'd signed for someone else. Well lets just see what happens against QPR then shall we? Stranger things have happened.
Thracian Posted 19 September 2005 Author Posted 19 September 2005 Well lets just see what happens against QPR then shall we? Stranger things have happened. I'm more interested in Chambers being in the squad for Blackpool. Can someone find out what time they're planning to put him on - cos I'm not really interested in the rest after the crap they've been serving up.

CL will bring him on 75mins 36 secs
Thracian Posted 19 September 2005 Author Posted 19 September 2005 Doesnt matter if you arent planning to attend does it? I changed my mind when I heard about Chambers. Just want to get there for when he goes on. Apart from Connolly's pre-transfer hat-trick, I don't get much chance to see centre-forwards in action at Leicester.
rossporterlc Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 he needs a full game to show what he can do, an attacking formation would be nice too
Thracian Posted 19 September 2005 Author Posted 19 September 2005 he needs a full game to show what he can do, an attacking formation would be nice too Are you going to explain what that means to Craig or what? And will it just be until we get a goal then back up with the shutters?
Thracian Posted 19 September 2005 Author Posted 19 September 2005 It was your thread you started! CL will bring him on 75mins 36 secs I don't mind. Fourteen minutes and 24 seconds will be better entertainment than them poor sods got at Wolves on Saturday.
Bert Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 Thrach, calm yourself he is only in the squad he might not get on yet!
Thracian Posted 19 September 2005 Author Posted 19 September 2005 Thrach, calm yourself he is only in the squad he might not get on yet! That's what bothers me. The way the manager treated the fans Saturday it wouldn't surprise me if Chambers is on the bench just to swell the gate a bit.
Bert Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 so what im saying is don't get too excited about this excellent bit of news, Because he may not get on, don't want you getting your hopes up to be disappointed
Thracian Posted 19 September 2005 Author Posted 19 September 2005 so what im saying is don't get too excited about this excellent bit of news, Because he may not get on, don't want you getting your hopes up to be disappointed I don't think I'll be getting my hopes up at all. For the rest of my life I can calm myself by thinking about the Wolves game and saying "anything better than that mega-dose of mediocrity will be a bonus". But thanks for the concern.
Babylon Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 Sorry I obviously missed something at the games i've been to, as the way people are going on you would think we have set out to be defensive in every game.

No but every time he comes up against what he perceives is a half-decent team he goes negative (Sheffield United in the last 15 minutes, Ipswich, Hull, Luton, Wolves and even against Stoke once we'd taken the lead). Trouble is they are not particularly good sides and we were/are well capable of beating them all if we remain positive throughout the matches.
Louise Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 That's what bothers me. The way the manager treated the fans Saturday it wouldn't surprise me if Chambers is on the bench just to swell the gate a bit. Swell the gate? 99% of fans don't know who he is.
Thracian Posted 19 September 2005 Author Posted 19 September 2005 Swell the gate? 99% of fans don't know who he is. Shame on them! They'll know come the end of tomorrow's match with any luck (or proper service).
