LCFCtotheprem Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Anyone know good places to go in South America and places to avoid as I am thinking of doing a gap year there by volunteering? Any info of any contacts or links about volunteering there, would be much appreciated?
separator Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 I've been to Chile and Peru on holiday and loved them both, hiking to Macchu Picchu and through Pategonia were superb, can't help with info about volunteering though
ealingfox Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Went to Cali and Bogota in Colombia in March, really liked it. Cheap, lively and great weather. Loads to do with amazing scenery and wildlife. English levels aren't great and its still pretty dodgy at times though. Mate is teaching English to Colombian kids atm and I was visiting him. Really easy to get on volunteering programs such as that one right now, they're shipping English-speakers in for fun because the government is trying to force English levels up. This is the one he went through, sounded a piece of piss and it's a decent life http://www.heartforchange.org/index.php/en/
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 Avoid Venezuala like the plague. They probably need all the volunteers they can get
