absoulute madness that stage was i mean firstly having to cut it by 5km because of the strong winds on the mountain meaning the fans are less spread out and the riders had to ride up pretty much in single file all the while dumb ass fans running by them and getting in the way.plus too many motorcycles on the course getting in the way of the riders and stopping them from attacking, absolute madness even if it was funny seeing froome running up the mountain like a triathlon

cavendish looks like he is staying in the tour instead of leaving early and preparing for the olympics, on a side note i would just like to wish my condolences to chris boardman who's mother has died in an accident while she was riding her bike

Not staying now - fair enough.

He really does want that gold medal which would complete a great career.

Does he actually stand a good chance because I remember there was quite a debate as to if Cav ought to be selected at all for the track team?

Agreed on the final point FB.

cavendish did the right thing by leaving to prepare for the olympics, no point suffering for four days in the mountains in the hope he might win the stage in paris. he has had a great tour and good luck to him in the olympics. great ride by adam yates but was is the problem with quintana he looks like a busted flush clearly not in good form

great ride by froome in the time trial, the tour is his now barring accident. adam yates will need two good days in the mountains to stay on the podium which hopefully he can manage. remains to be seen whether Quintana can do anything in the next two days?

It is a shame Adam Yates had a puncture when he did because he had to chase hard to get back onto the peloton and then cracked on the final kilometres of the climb which has probably cost him a podium place, froomes crash looked bad and he was badly cut up but he was thankfully able to recover, really bad day for mollema just shows that just one bad day can cost you seriously Quintana has done precisely nothing this tour and I just wonder what is the matter with him , congratulations to every cyclist who has made Paris you all deserve it

Congratulations chris froome on winning the tour de France for a third time and a fourth British win in five years and well done Adam Yates on winning the white jersey of best young rider a great performance this year by British cyclists good luck to British cyclists in the Olympics and well done to david brailsford of team sky and British cycling, not a classic tour but fantastic for the Brits like mark cavendish four stages and thirty overall

Echo your sentiments Foxy - Froome and let's not forget his team, were head and shoulders above anything in the GC.

Sky are so dominant at controlling a race, I dare say the Movistar and Taxo Sinkoff teams could do with colluding on tactics early on in the tour to try and get their main contenders a lead.

just want to say what a great ride by Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish to win the the Ghent six day race, the last time the two of them will race together. they both have done so much to raise the profile of British cycling and have been magnificent over their careers.good luck sir Brad on your retirement when that happens and i hope cav can have a good few more years yet
