The pro's of the old fashioned pre-season, ie being in the uk and playing local games, is that you do see more of the ball, and create more chances etc, meaning people can get a bit sharper. Plus you can send a mixed side of youth and senior to game on the same day or 24 hours apart if needed. I think the biggest trick we have missed is not arranging maybe a low key game against a MLS or lower team whilst in the states, we have basically travelled half way round the world for 90 mins, when maybe we could have taken a few of the younger lads and inler, moore etc and got 1 or 2 extra 90 mins under peoples belts. However, I still think claudio will have them up and running come sunday and play something close to the 11 we will see at hull. Yes that what bewildered me a little...We should of set up another low level game after travelling all the way for 1 game in the USA. Could of sneeked a short show for Vardy, Plus an Ulloa-Musa, Gray f.line.Just another simple but competive kick about....But we cant have everything...

Sure, it is silverwear, but I'd rather advance one round further in the CL then win it. But why Carnt we do both, it's not like it's win the charity shield and in doing so lose out elsewhere, I feel some need a reality check and need to think who we are and where we've came from, and stop setting the bar so high and enjoy where we are

Winning the Shield and the Champions League? I was saying, given the choice between winning the Shield and advancing to a CL quarter-final or losing it and advancing to a CL semi-final, then I'd chose the semi-final. Obviously one has pretty much no say on the other, but it was to illustrate how much it means to me. It is still ultimately a friendly.
