There are scouts all across the country keeping an eye on grass roots football. I have first hand experience of it myself. Jamie Vardy didn't just magically appear at Fleetwood, people were aware of him but doubted 1) his attitude which he has admitted himself was not the best in his younger years and 2) whether he would be able to replicate his perfomances higher up the footballing pyramid. The documentary that Sky did on him shows that clubs in the North West were keeping tabs on him. Much of it is finding the right club at the right time.

As did every club apart from United I believe. Scored a worldy for us against PNE. More a case of having a great agent than being unwanted
