lee7 Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 If as stated above we sign no one else then yes I'll be disappointed. I fear that this will be the case however if we were to land Slimani and Silva it will have been an exceptionally good window.
foxy boxing Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 what are the fans realistic expectations on who we can ultimately get,we need quality rather than quantity and players brought in need to add something to the team instead of being a like for like replacement for some players, the talk is of lots of money being spent but if they improve the team then it is ultimately worth paying the sums.
GloverFox Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 My two tuppence worth ... I'm totally over the moon we kept the entire team bar one ... and as Claudio stated 'if a player doesn't want to be here then goodbye and good riddance'! As for the additions we already made ... it doesn't matter how big or small a 'name' they are they have still got some way to proving their better than the premier winning players of last season, but already some are showing that desire and belief and that can only be good as competition within the squad (... so long as they stick together as the 'team' did last season ... that's a big requirement!) so for me anyone the club believes in and brings in is good enough for me,they've got my support ... C'mon you fearless foxes
Foxhateram Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 How can anyone even be contemplating disappointment? We have kept most of the team that won the league and are now reaping the rewards of bringing in the young players last season. Amartey and Gray are almost like new signings as well. Adding to that the quality additions of Mendy and Musa. We're looking great. With real strength in depth. This season is going to be another good one. Matched Arsenal already and we aren't even fully up to steam yet. Come on you Foxes!

We are the Champions of England and about to embark on our European tour. And if Drinkwater picks up a lasting injury I think we are light in the middle. He looks to be the only central midfielder with a great range of passing and the energy to go with it. I think we could manage without most of them now. The strikers can replace Vardy. Chilwell or Schlupp could fill in for Fuchs, we know that Wasa can do a job if called upon. And Gray could probably come in for Mahrez. But if Drinkwater is out for any length of time I think we'd really miss him. He's the engine of this team now AND he's a supplier of chances. IMO we are taking a gamble on him staying fit by not signing someone in the central area that can do a similar job. Looking at the other challengers this season...they have improved immensely. Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea in particular are strong. I think our City team could so benefit from a real class midfield playmaker. Someone who can put his foot on the ball and orchestrate from the middle. Drinkwater can do this, but he looks the only one. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the transfers we've made. I concur with this. We needed another player who can create from midfield - we cannot expect Drinky to play 55 games at this level, and from what I see from who we have there is nobody who could 'fill in' for him. In summary therefore I am a bit disappointed that recruitment department didn't move to rectify this. Also if they haven't noticed Kante was sold. All the posts along the lines of .. 'Think back to 2000 when we bought Summerbee or XYZ and you should be grateful' ... that's utter nonsense, and small time thinking from the past. Now we are Champions of England and next week we will be playing in the CL ffs, not going to Tranmere. Whilst I'm hopeful Slimani will be a good addition I think we've missed a trick by not addressing that we need -another top class midfield ball player.
