Henderson 6 - nothing to do all match, but looked too slow when that long ball over the top went through to their striker, who lobbed it over Henderson only for McCarthy/Nissa to clear. Also elected to get the ball rather than pick it up in his area when the ball was played over the top by Brighton.

Stearman 6.5 - did well, although not much defending to do in the 2nd half.

Nissa 6.5 - coped fairly well with their strikers

McCarthy 6.5 - ditto.

Kisnorbo 6.5 - I wasn't expecting much of him from the reviews so far but I thought he did quite well. Looked strong and good in the air, although didn't offer us much going forward. Still looked quite look at LB and the best player in that position I've seen.

Hughes 7 - looked good, although I still think he's wasted on the left/right.

Williams 6.5 - not as anonymous as usual, but still overshadowed by his fellow midfielders.

Gudjonsson 8 - solid as a rock. I'm loving this guy, he looks so much better than last season. Great effort from Joey and a great shot in the second half.

Tiatto 7 - I'm one of Tiatto's few fans and again I thought he did well.

De Vries 5 - missed a sitter again and there's no excuses for that. Won a fair few headers in the first half but they didn't go to a blue shirt. His control was off on a number of occasions and looked painfully slow as usual - especially with that guilt edged chance in the 2nd half which came back to him.

Hume 8 - excellent. First time I've seen him and I was impressed. 100% effort. Although I think he missed a great chance in the 1st half when clean through and he miscontrolled it and lost the ball.

Subs:

Dublin 5 - just as bad as De Vries imo

Henderson 6

Stearman 8 - Great performance as always, lost the ball a few times in first half but always willing to win the ball back immediately. So close to scoring as well in the first half, best right back at the club. Keep him in.

Nissa 6

McCarthy 6

Kisnorbo 5 - Less than impressive, never willing to pass it forward. Got turned a hell of a lot in the second half by Carole, who looked a great little player.

Hughes 7 - Considering he was out of position, an excellent game again, pity we can't finish anything he creates off.

Williams 7 - some cracking through balls, but looked pissed off whenever the ball was always in the air in the first half, don't blame him.

Gudjonsson 7 - Great effort as always this season, improvement in his shooting tonight.

Tiatto 5 - Average, i want us to play wingers like Brighton, not central midfielders who always come infield. Captain? Tiatto? Nah.

De Vries 2 - Shocking, absolutely shocking. Didn't win one header in the first half, and when the ball was played to feet he was on the floor by the time he'd controlled it. Hume laid it on a plate for him just before he got subbed and he still messed it up.

Hume 7 - Pretty ineffective first half although the shot he did have he should have at least get on target, came to life in the second.

Subs:

Dublin 5 - Rubbish. Elvis should have come on for De Vries. Our big man strikers are just so ineffective and horrible to watch.

McCarthy - Personally, I thought he had a wicked game (imo better than 6, more like 7). Perhaps except the slap he gave Hume (which Hume happily accepted - didn't quite get that).

He bloody did, dunno what you were watching to give him a 2.

Anyways...

Hendersen - 6 - Indesisive at coming out on occasions but generally solid.

Stearman - 8 - Solid and very good on the deck as ever, some cracking takles. Great run and shot in the first half, unlucky not to score.

Johansson - 6 - Fairly solid, caught out a few times with balls over the top and a few occasions where communication could have been better.

McCarthy - 6 - Decent performance for Paddy, panics too much though. A moment in the first half where he had time to turn and pass it back to Hendersen but decided to launch it out for a throw really pissed me off...

Kisnorbo - 5 - He's just not very good. Can run a lot, but footballing wise he's a bit cack.

Hughes - 8 - Had moments where he could have done better but overall he was class again. He's so much better than the rest of our squad, passing and technique are immense.

Gudjonsson - 8 - Been good all season and again tonight. Breaks up play well and is actually creating a lot more now. So unlucky with the shot he caught so well but went down the middle :(

Williams - 7 - Better than before, got involved more but still had moments of not being noticed. Put some stroger challenges in too ya poof.

Tiatto - 5 - Refuses to play as a winger when we need one. Not the brightest of players, hence nearly getting sent off and set pieces were shit.

de Vries - 5.5 - Average, did well to hold some up but then did have some bad touches too. Some good flick ons. Unlucky with the shot when he fell over and it went straight at the keeper :( Anyone cheering like people did when he was taken off near me in the future will get an earful. Tossers.

Hume - 7 - Good energy and technique. Seemed shot shy though as a few times he could have had a pop but he overplayed it instead. Still, looked promising.

Subs:

Dublin - 5 - Did nowt

Sylla - 7 - Maybe the best I've seen him play, looked very positive going past people and made the keeper make a good save. Played like a WINGER! :o:D

Hammond - 5 - Didn't do much, would have liked to see us play a couple of balls over the full back for him to run onto and use his pace, but noooooooo.

Henderson - 6

Some uneccessary kicks out of play when either himself or a defender should have taken ownership. Apart from that, he wasn't tested.

Stearman - 6

Looked a little dodgy in the first half defensively, but improved as the game wore on. Very unlucky with a great first half effort after a wonderful run and curling shot.

McCarthy - 6

Solid and composed (if still a little rash), which is a bit of an improvment on recent games.

Johansson - 6

Looked much more comfortable at centre back, but seemed to get caught out a little in the second half particularly.

Kisnorbo - 4

Often exposed at left back and didn't offer us anything going forward.

Hughes - 6

Not his best game, but he must be so frustrated being played out of position. He doesn't have the pace to make an impact there. Some good passes though.

Gudjonsson - 7

Best player again. Good first half performance, although he seemed to fade in the second. Links up well in patches with Williams.

Williams - 6

Looked our best bet of creativity when he broke forward from midfield. Unfortunately, with no width in the side, there weren't many options for him.

Tiatto - 3

Typically battled away, but committed stupid fouls (again) and left our not so great left back Kisnorbo exposed.

de Vries - 3

Can't remember him doing much apart from fluffing a great chance just before he was subbed. Most things seemed to bounce of him. When he did get control of the ball, he either was too slow in decision making or chose the wrong pass.

Hume - 6

Lively again and seems to have an abundance of skill, which wasn't capitalised on by those around him. The partnership with de Vries just isn't clicking, yet.

Subs:

Dublin - 5

Showed some good touches, but we needed more than that.

Sylla - 7

Provided us with some much needed width and pace.

Hammond - 6

Injected some pace and movement in to the attack.

What a disappointing game. Bar Sheffield Wednesday, I think I saw the two worst teams in the league last night. For the first time, I'm actually a little worried. Here are my ratings:

Henderson - 6 - Only had a save or two to make, which he did comfortably. Lucky for us Brighton spurned two glorious chances, where they should have scored.

Kisnorbo - 5.5 - Made a few tackles, tries hard, but was never really going to offer us anything & so in that sense didn't disappoint.

Johansson - 6 - Played ok. Felt McCarthy saved him a few times last night

McCarthy - 7.5 - Full blooded, committed performance. My man of the match and more like the player of last season. Made some great challenges and yet I'm still going to say he can play better than he did.

Stearman - 7 - Don't think I've ever seen him have a bad game for us yet. Last night was no exception. Made a great challenge at one point during the game as well as trying to provide width up the right

Tiatto - 5.5 - He naturally comes inside, so it is not his fault. In terms of individual performance, he was committed, but had to be careful not to get sent off after picking up an early booking.

Gudjonsson - 6 - Not a great game from Joey in my opinion. Made the odd misplaced pass, whilst never really dominating anything.

Williams - 6- Same as Joey, but I think it was hard for the two centre mids as for much of the game, they never had an outlet for a pass, seeing as we were playing so narrow.

Hughes - 5.5 - Same as Tiatto in that he was not best utilised playing on the wing. Whilst it is fine if you play one wide flank and one narrow, we didn't, so hte midfield struggled, looking up to find no-one available to pass to.

De Vries - 5 - Looked off the pace (must have been carrying a knock). Felt it was unfair to start him. Won a few headers but should have scored. Altogether, not one of his best nights.

Hume - 6.5 - As we were playing so narrow, it was up to Hume to try and create space upfront, but really, it was difficult for him. Having said that, he didn't do too badly and should have scored in the first half, only for his control to let him down.

Subs

Dublin - 5 - One more headers than De Vries but largely ineffective.

Sylla - 7- As soon as we had even one winger on the pitch, we started to stretch Brighton. Sylla did well for the time he was on. If he can play like that for a full 90

Hammond - 5 - Lost on the left wing, offering nothing. He should have replaced De Vried so that we could play pure pace upfront. In fact, he was desperately needed upfront, with the runs he makes into the channels.

Overall - Bad tactics and team selection tonight. I slated Micky for playing a narrow team and I'll do the same to Levein. We made it easy for Brighton last night. Too many times, Williams or Gudjonsson would pick-up the ball, look up, and have nowhere to pass it to. In all honesty, Brighton should have won the game last night mssing a guilt-edged chance.

Had to say, it made me laugh after De Vries was subbed and before Elvis came on. During that period, we had only two players on the pitch who had scored a goal for us this season (McCarthy & Gudjonsson - one each). How worrying for us.

I personally thought Tiatto was the best player on show, was biting my nails at one point as it looked like he was going to be recieving his marching orders but he got away with it, it just the fact he chaces down every ball and races in for lost causes, Id like to see more of our players do that. De Vries was pants yesterday, I cant remember a single good thing about his performance.. oh wait.. he got subtituted and our performance picked up from then.. Hume looked like a great little player, I think he looks better when hes running at people though as alot of the time we seemed to be pumping long balls forward in the first half. Another frustrating thing about yesterday was that we didnt seem to have enough players making runs for people which got the crowd frustrated in that second half... also why we didnt start with Sylla I dont know.. Gareth Williams was a bit nowhere, often seems to take to much time on the ball. Gudjohnsson I felt had another good game, a bit like Tiatto in that he will scrap for most things. I thought defensively we seemed very good today but we were lucky to get away with a point in some respects as they missed two awesome chances.

Henderson - 7 - Felt a bit more comfortable with him in goal than I have done with Douglas, although I’m not really sure why that is. He was only properly tested once in the second half when he got down quickly to a low shot in the box. A little indecisive when coming off his line, but I think Johansson exacerbated this by also being unconvincing when going for balls in the box. Best moment of the match for me was Henderson finally deciding he’d had enough and charging out to punch away the ball and flatten a dithering Johansson.

Stearman - 7 - He made a couple of mistakes, had the ball taken off his toes at one point and also missed a couple of challenges. I’ve put the negatives first because generally he had a great game but he’s not above criticism as some people seem to suggest. The moment in the first half when he picked the ball up in our half and ran all the way to their box and was just inches wide with his shot was definitely one of the best of the match. It makes you wonder whether he’ll be wasted at centre-back when he’s finally put there. Other than that defensively he was solid apart from those moments I mentioned, and it was wonderful to see him high up the pitch linking up with Hughsey. On this showing it’s a shame Maybury is bound to come back in after his suspension.

McCarthy - 7 - Back to his old self, and I don’t mean his old bad self either (although he did concede a free kick for climbing all over a player again). Another shame, because he’ll be out for Derby and who knows when he’ll get back in the side after that with all the changes we like to make. Quick at the back and defensively solid most of the time, also got forward a bit although I felt sorry for him when he found himself on the edge of their area with the ball, didn’t know what to do with it so passed it back to Sylla and got roundly booed.

Johansson - 6 - Indecisive at times, and still prone to badly paced back-passes. But certainly better in the centre than he is as a fullback. I do like his calmness at the back, although sometimes I struggle to decide whether he's being too calm when he doesn't clear a ball straight away, or gets back slowly when he’s been up the pitch.

Kisnorbo - 5 - Better than he was on Saturday, but still not very good. I have read some comments from people saying that he’s not really a footballer, and that I would agree with. He put in some good tackles sometimes and has a good throw-in, however whenever he gets the ball he has no idea what to do with it. He struggles to pass it to one of our own players and offers nothing in attack. Ok so he's not left footed and so putting in balls from there must be hard but he didn’t even try to cross or turn and cross with his right, he’d get to a certain point up the pitch then seem unable to go any further. Lack of fitness showed as he again faded in the second half.

Hughes - 7 - Played out of position again, although at least this time on the right he’s able to put more balls into the box. With Hughes I think one of the things that impresses me most is his attitude, with a lot of ‘creative’ players you'll see that attitude that once they’ve lost the ball they don’t need to get it back, that’s other players jobs, but Hughes always tears after whoever took the ball off him and tries to get it back. In the first half he had a couple of good chances, especially the one that went just wide. He also made some good passes. Faded towards the end and was right to be substituted, it is annoying that he’s not fully fit yet but I’d rather play him for 60 minutes then take him off than leave him in the reserves for a few games.

Williams - 6 - I actually thought Williams played quite well. Not brilliantly as we know he can, but still not badly. He actually had a proper shot in the first half, without all the extra touches etc., and if I remember rightly it tested the 'keeper as well. He also, particularly in the second half, seemed to be the one bursting through the midfield and trying to set up the strikers. In the first half he put a fantastic ball through to Hume who just couldn’t finish it properly.

Gudjonsson - 7 - Good game again from Joey. Probably edges it as my MOTM again. Seems to be able to fit in with the passing game well which is a plus and although he’s a defensive player primarily he seems to be able to pass forward unlike some of the players we’ve had the past (Gemmill for example). Had a good shot in the second half well saved and ran about non-stop for the full 90 minutes.

Tiatto - 6 - I thought he started off playing better than he has for a while for us, I actually saw him put a couple of crosses in which I've not seen in a long while. However it did not last for long and of course he got booked and he could have been sent off. The back-heel he did in the second half to give away possession was painfully bad and his fitness might also be a bit out as he faded very quickly in the second half.

Hume - 7 - I still see the potential there, he did a few good tricks during the game. However at the moment it is just potential, he's going to need time to grow into the player we need him to be. Luckily I think he’ll get that as the fans seem to like him, it is a shame they can’t take to every player (although we'll get to that in a minute). He wasted a fantastic chance in the first half when we somehow managed to give him the ball about 10-yards out without him being offside but with no defenders near him and he just couldn’t pull off the shot. He had another shot that went just wide of the post. He shows good passing ability and does win more headers than he should for a small player (although I wouldn’t say he's particularly good in the air).

de Vries - 6 - I didn't think he was as bad as everyone around me seemed to think, by his standards I'd say he had a fairly average game. His heading was all right again, and at least he could direct them to roughly the right place (unlike Dublin). He seemed to work quite well with Hume although they still need more time together. He missed a couple of good chances again though and the crowd got on his back so it was probably the right idea to take him off. I hated the reaction from the 'fans' when he did go off though, completely uncalled for.

Subs:

Dublin - 4 - Poor. It is no coincidence that we started passing it around without Dublin in the team. He is just too slow. People cheered when he came on instead of de Vries but every one of Dublin's headers went to the opposition and I don't really think I can remember him doing much more than give away possession.

Sylla - 7 - Looked good when he came on, put in some nice crosses and ran up and down the right. It was his sort of appearance though, only a short time to perform so no chance of getting bored. Until he can do that for 90 minutes he will always be in and out of the side.

Hammond - Not on long enough to mark.

I just started at De Monfort the other day, so therefore i went along to see beloved Leicester, and what can i say, dreadful. Some of you are immensely generous with your scores.

Henderson-5- looked very indecisive and didn't communicate well with his defenders

Kisnorbo -3- Caught out time and time again, never offered a thing going foward

Stearman-6-Made a few decent challenges, not great on the ball

McCarthy-6-Did ok and as previously mentioned bailed Eric out a few times

Eric-5-Did ok in the air but caught out on a fair few occasions

Tiatto-3-Very poor performance, bad challenges and use of ball

Gudjonnson-6-Not too bad, worked hard for the ball

Williams-5-No ideas going foward

Hughes-6-Did give the ball away but had to work his side near enough by himself

De Vries-1-Donkey, worse than ade

Hume-6-Pretty average, looked quite lazy at times

Overall, lack of ideas, pace, everything, poor.

Stearman isn't very good on the ball? I think your watching a different player bud. For a centre half he can half carry the ball forward and looks quite slinky at times. Weren't you impressed with his run and shot at the end of the first half? Or were the balti pies to hard to resist and you wanted to get down their first? :D
