DeVries at full sprint is very slow and so putting a ball through to him is pointless because whilst he is doing his best to run an opposing defender simply strolls past him and takes the ball. If there is no breakthrough after 75mins then you bring on one of your slower target men because by that time the opposing defence has been run ragged by your two pacey centre forwards! Playing DeVries from the beginning gives opposition defenders an easy ride. They have him in their pocket all game! The new lad needs time to bed in so I don't know if we should go with him straight away, however, having said that Tiatto would not get in my team on the left hand side, and no one else is an out and out winger (with the exception of Hamill, who by Levein's admission is not ready yet...), so it might be worth a gamble. Tiatto is a poor left sided player, but in terms of holding midfielder/ball winner he does a good job!!!
