car1os Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 With Drinkwater out and a fairly leaky defence, is it time for us to try out the 3-4-3 formation? What would people think of this line-up (taking into account players who we have who are fit currently) Zieler Hernandez Huth Morgan Albrighton King Amartey Fuchs Vardy Slimani Musa It would give us pace up front and on the wings, Fuchs and Albrighton are good at tracking back (so when we are in a defensive phase we revert almost to a 5-4-1), can leave Huth deep so he doesn't get done for pace, and Slimani as a target man as we seem to be playing a LOT of long balls (which in turn will make space for Vardy and Musa to run into). I haven't put Mahrez or Gray in this team as I think that we need to get on top of the basics, build some confidence, and get the team playing effective football again. Gray and Mahrez are great to have in a team which is playing well and winning regularly but they can sometimes go missing and right now we need to get back to winning ways.
elvisfmcfly Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 If so then one of Vardy or slimani drop out and Mahrez plays.
cc_star Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 Can't keep doing the same thing but expecting results to change Mahrez should play off Slimani or not at all imo
Sir Shep Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 3-5-2 maybe? 3 central defenders with wing backs of Fuchs and Simo, now granted Simo may not be capable in that role going forward but defensively he's been outstanding. I'd leave drinky and Armarty in midfield with a free role for Mahrez with a slight tendency to cover the right wing. Then 2 up front. It might work or it might be completely useless but then I'm not an expert!!
