Foxhateram Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 Haha if Rudkin makes the signings then that would explain a lot hahaha I honestly think Walsh played a huge role in signings under Pearson and had his role/ability to influence reduced under Ranieri, hence why he jumped ship. This has cost us dearly because his talent spotting was second to none and his coaching ability was top notch. Now our recruitment policy seems to be to buy in form players from other leagues and hope it'll work in England, not sure the new policy is working out. None of Amartey, Mendy, Hernandez, Musa, Kaputska (under performing in reserve games) or Benluane look ready for the prem at all, Slimani is just about better than our current CF (Ulloa). I do like Claudio though, I think he plays the media well and has done well to get us performing in europe. Emergency alarms are starting to ring though. We can't afford relegation.
Donut Posted 27 November 2016 Posted 27 November 2016 There are some clubs where the boss is a head coach, and just coaches the players that hes given Ranieri would have had influence in the signings. They havent worked out as well as we thought though.

Pretty much all the players we have brought in this summer, with the possible exception of Kaputska, were scouted by, and recommended by Walsh and his staff. We were trying to sign Mendy, before we signed Kante last season, before Ranieri was even given the job, Slimani was being chased by us for a couple of seasons before he signed, Musa was scouted and recommended by Walsh, at least as far back as last January and Hernandez had agreed to sign before the end of last season, as he was going to be a free agent, and again will have been recommended by Walsh. Basically, this summers signing were targeted and recommended by Walsh, before he left, so maybe we should be having a go at him for the recruitment!

They have improved the squad, just not the first 11 purely on a results basis but that was always going to be impossible realistically unless you seriously thought we'd win the league by 15 points this year instead of just the 10?

Of course I didn't. I also didn't expect the team that won the league by 10 points to be struggling as badly as they are with 13 points after 13 games after spending close to £70 million pounds in the summer.
