inckley fox Posted 5 January 2017 Posted 5 January 2017 I'd go along with Parker, who was loved by us lot but overlooked internationally. I thought he might have deserved a chance at some point. David Oldfield got far too much stick off the fans. I remember a few commentators saying 'when he plays well, Leicester play well', and he was one of our hardest working players. Lacked good distribution but was decent with the ball at his feet, and quickly turned defence into attack. And whoever said Billy McKinlay, I'd go along with him too. Our fans always thought he should be the last name on the team-sheet, but I thought he did a lot of the dirty work. I suppose we all dismissed Mark Bright, Harry Kane and Jesse Lingard, maybe even Yann Kermorgant, a bit too quickly as well. We've also had a few players whom our managers have under-rated. Ashley Ward went on to have a very good career after Leicester, as did Damien Delaney. Zagorakis and Max Gradel also come into that category. And I can't decide whether Kevin Russell was over-rated by fans or under-rated by managers. Speaking of which, there's probably more subject matter if we talk about who we've over-rated in the past.

I have to be honest, I thought he was a 33 year-old who played with all of the wisdom, experience and composure of a 16 year-old. He lacked pace, knew nothing other than the floated ball towards our target men, made rash challenges, failed to hold the line, lost track of his man and frequently ballsed-up the simplest of passes. We played him for his steady hand and cool head, but I don't think age is always a guarantee of those things. Over the course of his four seasons with us, I'd love to see our points-per-game with and without him in the side, because I'm convinced we had much of our best form whenever Schlupp was drafted in, which really is saying something. No wonder we won the league the second Fuchs turned up.
