Wellens became a joke and a scapegoat later on in his career here, obviously he declined but the revisionism was unfair. He was one of our best players for a long while and I think he only cost £1m

Wellens was quality. At the time, our best midfielder in a long time.

Mark Draper. Gutted when he left in the exodus to the villains.

Mark Draper was quality also a word for Spencer Prior a very under rated player.

Tunchev & Miguel Vitor

Not the most underrated of course but they both deserve their shouts.

Who were they underrated by? Everyone thought Tunchev was fantastic but hampered by injuries and basically everyone thought Vitor was great but Benfica weren't keen on selling

Bobby davidson bargain at £50,000. Simon Grayson had some solid seasons here when other MORE star names were in the limelight.

David Kelly and David Connolly.

lol

Davidson was poor for Leicester!

Now if you'd have said Phil Gee...

Yakubu

All he did was score goals.

Funny how we improved when we got Vardy and Nugent who worked for the team.

We'd have never gone up that season with someone like Yakubu in the side (and he missed as many good chances as he scored anyway).

A lot of the players in the 2008/10 were underrated. Berner, Wellens, Gallagher, Hobbs, King and to some extent Dyer & Fryatt were all very good at Championship level but were mismanaged by Sousa & Sven, then everyone's eyes lit up at the thought of replacing them with hot shot signings like Michael Johnson, Van Aanholt, Curtis Davies, Matt Mills, etc.

I know which group I remember more fondly.

Point proven. You don't win the league carrying a player.

Sorry, but you do. Pretty much every successful side has a dud in there somewhere.

Might not be a popular opinion because the bloke was clearly a massive tool but I also think Wayne Brown was solid for us in 09/10. Still maintain that if he'd have not blurted out that he was a massive racist pre-Cardiff and we'd had him instead of Alex Bruce that we'd have won that play-off.

Andy 'no neck' impey was decent.

also the pineapple Jamie Lawerence was useful.

has anyone said David Lowe?

Arguably at his peak as a player at QPR but a great signing - fondly remember his cross for that Izzet goal against Grimsby.

Jamie Lawrence? Useful? - Perhaps if you're planning a heist and need an experienced getaway driver in a stolen car. Tough lad though and turned his life around well before Deeney's paragon of reform. I guess other than his infamy prior to his break at Sunderland, he'll always be recalled for the concussion that followed one of the most powerful headers I've ever seen, against Crewe in the League Cup. Fair shout - not a bad footballer actually, committed and a real presence on the field. At the same time, Baddiel and Skinner continually goaded Jason Lee over his pineapple - they wouldn't have dared with Jamie.

Lowey? No, just Josh Low repeatedly on the worst players thread  - but it's worth finding his goal against Spurs at home again.

Wow. Imagine what will happen when a team get 11 good players!
