Donut Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Weve had a few of these threads recently, favourite player, best and worst. Who do you think are the players that maybe deserved more credit, or ones that actually had a bit of talent that didnt seem to get picked up on much? I think theres a few for me that fall into this category in more recent times: Theo Zagorakis - A great leader for Greece and just happened to be around at the time of Savage, Lennon and Izzet so his game time was limited. But a very good midfield player Callum Davidson - I thought he had great attacking intent and was a good all round full back for the time he was here. Billy McKinlay - In the premier league season under Micky Adams, he always seemed to be a 100% man in a lot of games that were lost causes and what he lacked in talent he made up for with sheer determination and hard work, allowing our better players more freedom. Jonny Hayes - I think this was an unhearalded Rob Kelly signing, but when he played he actually looked like a tricky winger who had good crossing ability, considering our side as a lower mid table championship team. His name seems to regularly pop up for goals and assists now he is playing for Aberdeen Just wondered what people thought?
Bluejak Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Tom Kennedy left back a few seasons ago. Was quality and very assured on the ball. Shame he never got a real push
StriderHiryu Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Tony Cottee. Brilliant for us during his time here and scored the winner at Old Trafford in a memorable game! And to think MON signed him from the Malaysian league!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Off the top of my head... Andy King, Leo Ulloa, Danny Simpson. Maybe Schmeichel, although the top clubs are now starting to have a look at Kasper.
Dr The Singh Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Alan Rogers Hossien Kiebi Elvis Hammond Marc De Vries

Domsdad Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Jon Sammels, he could spray a pass and had a wonderful shot on him
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 He became a meme but Gary Taylor-Fletcher when we went up. Played really well when we were one up and under the cosh with his hold up play and intelligence.
The whole world smiles Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Neil Lennon I know he is highly regarded but I don't think he got the credit he deserved at the time or now he was an absolute beast of a player for us and you only have to look how quickly and far we slipped once he left to realise how good he was.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Taylor-Fletcher is a good suggestion. Okazaki and Albrighton from the current side too.
easilee Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Robbie Savage. A massive cock now but if you look back............
foxfanazer Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Nugent never got the credit he deserved imo. Got him for nothing if I remember correctly and went on to score quite a lot of important goals for us, especially in the promotion season. Got a reputation for only scoring penalties from people on here. And we still got a good fee for him when he went Boro You also got the impression he was a great man to have around the club, always joking around. Loved his persona on the pitch
