"The dream is dead"

Recommended Posts

A few weeks ago, I had some mild fallings out on social media with a number of genuine friends, many of whom thought they were being clever by posting "the dream is dead".  I have really enjoyed throwing this back at them this morning.

The dream did not die.  The dream was the Club's dream and the fans' dream.  CR played a vital role, but the dream did not end with his departure.  If anything, it was resurrected by it.

At the risk of stretching this to breaking point, I feel like I woke from an amazing dream, had a hangover kick in, but I've managed to get back off to sleep and Margot Robbie and/or Vanessa Paradis just walked in.  I'm settling back in for the next instalment.

This is my favourite foxestalk line of all time.

I like that you have fell out with genuine friends over the results of some football games

Not permanently fallen out at all, but it got a little testy.  They took the national media's lazy line of : stupid ungrateful owners make a big mistake because of player power.  I took an appropriately defensive position, which was spiced up by me posting after a few beers on holiday.  Classic social media bollocks.

Doesn't surprise me. Honestly, some of the stuff I saw on facebook from fans of other clubs who are generally decent, level-headed people was astounding. We really have riled up the footballing world over the last couple of seasons, for various reasons lol
