Was it handball?

Its hard to tell when you're in the ground, but it looked a clear hand ball inside the box to me. Can't seem to find a clip of it anywhere.

Were we unlucky not to have pen??

No, because it wasn't given. We lost, move on.

Such a boring reply. Why even bother.

This is a very long post about one second of action, but it's worth it because it looks like we were robbed.

I watched the replay about five times and was about to post this:

'It wasn't handball and the ref had already blown for an Arsenal free kick anyway.'

But then I checked again and I realised I'd been focusing on the wrong bit of action. It's very easy to be misled by the timing of Schmeichel's and Ndidi's vehement appeals to the ref. They seem to be appealing for handball against Koscielny - and he very nearly did brush the loose ball with his right arm. But in fact they were appealing because of what happened just before that. The delayed appeals were because they were (quite rightly) still trying to put the loose ball in the net rather than claiming handball.

So anyway, I then watched it another 10 times, and I'm still not totally sure because they only showed one replay, but this is what seems to happen. The actual handball incident was when Shinji's shot was blocked by Gabriel's right foot and the loose ball looks like it's heading for Schmeichel who is waiting totally free at the far post for a tap in. What an incredible moment that would have been! But Gabriel's left arm then comes down on the loose ball and kills it dead.

Schmeichel and Gray then frantically try and get to the ball (Gray committing the foul that I mentioned above) - and it's when Arsenal finally clear the ball that our players rush to the ref.

So it looks like Gabriel's handball prevented the ball reaching Schmeichel for a certain equaliser. I say 'looks like' because you'd need to see more replays to be sure.

There's so many things to be pissed off about here - you can take your pick:

1) The handball denying us an incredible moment, as Schmiechel heads for the City fans in celebration in the 4th minute of injury time.

2) The ref denying us the penalty - and Vardy lording it over the Gunners fans after slamming the ball past Cech.

3) The TV coverage for not showing the incident properly, and online media for not making a scene like they would for one of the top 6

All valid points...but why the hell did Shinji need more than one touch to get the shot away, he did it earlier in the game too, giving the defender the chance to get a block in!
