For what they did last season, they are paid to much.

If they were achieving European football every year I could understand the wages, and  maybe an increase, but wanting more than £100 grand a week, to finish mid table, they can **** off, we can cash in, and buy players who want to play for the club, not just for the money

Unluckily for likes of The Sun most of us were taught reading comprehension skills at junior school. At best they could be hinting that Mahrez requesting to leave is a way of getting a better contract here (or that his "ambitions" don't neccessarily mean Playing Champions League football but really mean being at a club be it here or elsewhere where he is surrounded by similarly talented players as himself) but what Wes talks about is investing in incoming transfers. As well as finding the fee we need to find the type of salary that goes with potential regular starters in a top 8 side. Not so much about improving Mahrez and other existing players wages but finding similar amounts for new targets.  Ndidi aside we did invest an amount which should have improved us but for one reason or another the three other big signings were unavailable or inconsistent when they were most needed. The headline has worked though and people are talking about existing players wages and greed. There is some really poor and lazy journalism going on out there but don't confuse that with the intentional mis-interpretation of quotes as this is usually done to fit an ongoing agenda.
