I think you are probably right. We lost £71m in the Premier League season, we must have lost a lot last season in the Championship but those accounts aren't available yet, I very much doubt KP have covered those losses so the likelihood is that we have borrowed against every penny owed and only now has it dawned on Top that he has to sell. The pending transfer fees are where it all gets a bit murky and could be where KP have endangered the club, I hope they haven't. The gross amount that is showing online is £81m outstanding, that will be offset by the amount that we are owed but how much of the transfer fees that we are owed have KP already borrowed against from Macquarie? If it is most or all of our incoming transfer fees then we are in big trouble. There are other debts but this could be a real problem. Instead of owing a net amount of say £25m which may be manageable for someone looking to buy the club it could be closer to £81m in which case we have a major issue, especially when the other debts are taken into account.

Blackburn get some of the lowest attendances in the championship. They had that period under Jack Walker where they were able to over-achieve due to him spending way more than they ordinary could or would be allowed to do today but we have way more support than they do. The bottom of the championship/top of league one is where they would sit if gate receipts/support were taken into account. I think we win the biggest disaster for a club debate. The problem with allowing managers to have too much say on the recruitment is that if we do well the manager leaves like Enzo and if it goes badly we are stuck with shit like Ayew, Bobby Reid and need to find a new manager anyway like Cooper, either way it's not a good strategy. For a club like us we need to have a really strong recruitment setup and just sign players that suit the club then find a decent manager to coach them. Manager's, as we know better than most rarely stay long regardless of how we do so it's much easier to change 1 person than loads of shit players on ridiculous wages. Letting Rodgers get his mate Congerton in was a prime example of giving way too much power to the manager and it has been downhill since.

Martin is awful and it has gone exactly the way almost everyone thought it would. He should be sacked and hopefully will be soon. We were literally the model that teams like Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth have emulated. Signing players via dedicated recruitment that are good for the club then find a manager to coach them and we threw it away through the sheer stupidity of our board. Martin should go but we need a change right at the top and the only way that will happen is if Top understands that he's not getting 200m for us now. He would be lucky to get half that. The assets are only worth it if we get back to the Prem and that could take years of heavy losses.

You would probably need to be a billionaire but: Fire Rudkin and appoint someone competent Hire a top class director of football and go back to the Steve Walsh type model of signing players Sack Russell Martin and try and get Nigel Pearson back. If he wouldn't come then someone similar. Do the stadium project (We have to increase our revenue, this is the only way we will ever be able to grow, football related income is going to become more and more important as it determines how much we can spend on players) Try and scale back costs at Seagrave. We don't need a golf course and could operate at a smaller level. Perhaps mothball the hotel if possible until we are promoted. Try and get Vardy in for the season to bang in enough goals to get promotion. Shift as much deadwood as possible. That would get the ball rolling.

Seagrave being blamed by players is such a cop out. Seagrave was never the problem. Signing players with bad attitudes that are extremely unprofessional and are searching for any excuse that avoids them looking in the mirror at how they are stealing a living from a club giving them every tool to succeed is. Having someone like him around that believes one bad orange spreads and needs to be banished immediately before they impact others was what we needed. True, but Boehly will probably double his money on the Chelsea investment in a fairly short amount of time so football clubs can "make money" in terms of increased value rather than day to do profitability. Not many businesses give those kinds of returns though. Let's face it, the price KP want for the club is too high, but if someone like Boehly could buy the club at a reasonable price, finish the stadium expansion (the Chelsea stadium issue is apparently one of the reasons he wants to part ways there) invest in the playing squad to get us back in to the prem and expand our footprint/brand in the US which is a huge untapped market for us the club would be worth many times more than what it would cost him. With the right person on board we are a huge opportunity with a massive catchment area. We just need an entertaining side that is winning and even the proposed expanded stadium would be sold out in the prem, especially if we were challenging for Europe. He could do all of that with us. You are right, we just need someone with that vision and we need an outright billionaire not a consortium.

We have players in our squad with a bigger net worth than 2m. A few of them. He would need a several hundred man consortium of similar sized investors which would never happen as it would be a mess. There are some incredibly wealthy people in India that could well be interested in buying the club but those type of investors are going to want to be running it not part of a consortium in which they are putting up all the money for someone else like this guy to live out their dream of running a club like Leicester. It's really unlikely that a consortium would work for us. There are ongoing losses that they would be relying on every member to put their share up of. We need some billionaire. That is the only way it works. Our infrastructure has become too big. We have to have a billionaire that can get us to the Premier league to be anywhere near sustainable.. Then it has a chance of working. Someone with enough money to finish the stadium project which will increase our revenue. In hindsight that would have been the better priority for KP as it brings in revenue then look at the training ground after but that's looking a cow in the arse as the Dutch say now. If we can get an owner in that can do that now though and get back to the Premier League then there wouldn't be many teams more attractive than us to own.

Even with the stadium name, we have the same anyway, the only difference being that the King Power Stadium sounds better than the Sports Direct Arena. If King power had a trashy sounding name as a company instead of King Power or Mike Ashley had had a better sounding brand name than Sports Direct then there would be no difference. It is still naming the stadium after the owners company.

If we haven't had to pay anything then this is a great deal. Things might be looking up at last!
