lush Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 I listen to talksport regular. Im listening to the james whale show now (with ash his oppo) They talk about issues of the day, but they have a larf inbetween. Plus ian collins 10.00am (when i can) hes the highest paid radio presenter in britain, and also discusses issues of the day, and again, his news reader is a larf. Of course, theres heart 106, bannock is top class for fun. Judge jules on radio 1 saturdays 7pm and dave pearce sundays 7pm for top class dance music. What do you listen to, and now?
Libertine Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 Late Night Love on Leicester Sound. Love Lines on Heart 106 is so much better!
freund Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 I quite enjoy James Whale, but I normally only listen to Mike Mendoza after him because it's on later. I can see where lush gets all his views from now. the only music show i listen to is the breezeblock on radio 1, banging

I can see where lush gets all his views from now. Mike is so boring freund, how can you sit through that? TRUST ME, james has very little bearing on my beliefs, infact, hes responded to my emails of incidents that occur in our society with interest and thanks. Hey, ive heard those girls on heart106 love lines, their horny dudes. Anyone listen to the leicester sound version? Does anyone remember Adrian Allen on the old century, his last show was the day of the petrol strike. he did 1pm - 2pm and 10pm - 1am.
Nationwider Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 Fighting Talk on 5Live. Moyles when he's on form. Wogan. Stuart Maconie - when he can get on R2. Annie Nightingale.
freund Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 moyles gets annoying because they spend so long on crappy jokes, which can be funny if you like the joke, but gets so annoying if you dont find the joke funny, and just want to hear some tunes
Nationwider Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 Can't listen to Moyles everyday, but he makes me laugh more than any other DJ. I like the way he treats the sh1t playlist records and guests (esp. the big brother ones) with the thinly-veiled contempt they deserve.

I assume wrightly or wrongly, that the picture you have is that great late John peel? The MAN who would not give in to globalistic pressure of advertising just to earn money, good man. I remember him coming on radio 1 friday nights after pete tong, a pleasent listen. I miss his unique broadcasting. Did you hear he was sexually abused when young? WOGAN??????? oh no, please no

It sounds a bit trite, but outside of my family, he's one of (if not THE) great influences on my life to date. I started listening to his R1 show in 1988 and my musical horizons were broadened from then on. Aside from the music, all his other media work was first rate (Home Truths, documentaries etc) and he was a massive football fan too (Liverpool FC). A gent and a legend. As for Wogan.... everyone has their weaknesses. I just think he's a funny old badger. Like Moyles, best in small-ish doses.
SystonFox Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Radio 1 is what i like to listen to at work but i dont get much say as you can't please everyone so it gets changed every 2 hours. Scott Mills is imo the funniest DJ. Moyles and co ramble on and get boring quickly. Mills pranks are the best. especially the latest Situations Vacant episodes. Heart 106 bugs me. they play the same "modern music" all the time, charlotte church, marroon 5, rob thomas it gets so repetetive and annoying. but i do love it when they put on a good 80's disco tune. also the presenters annoy me on Heart. it seems they are wearing a false radio smile and they are being made to sound happy which just seems false.they also only ever talk about Nottingham when its supposed to be about the east midlands. glad they got rid of jim and paula in the morning though. Leics Sound - virtually the same as heart 106 music wise but more adverts and the same false cheery presenters. Sage - boring if you have it all day but can be refreshing for a change in the afternoon. Classic FM - nice and refreshing and keeps us all chilled out in the workshop at work and annoys James the lad everyone loves to annoy. Radio 2 - cant stand it, any of it. these are all i listen to at work, if im in my car i listen to radio 1 or a cd. just do, dont know why. im 18 if this is a survey type

Heart cater for the older generation musicly, and the "top of the pops everything sound the same" music later in the day. Yeah ive noticed the cheesy way the presenters behave, mums like that stuff. One of them now does the "chat show" on itv in the mornings, kyle or something. heart should be based in Loughboro as its snottingham bias. Paula used to do a phone-in in the afternoon and evening, which was ok. Classic fm is the bizz, does simon bates still do the "hour tune"? ner i cant stand bbc radio 2,3,4, just a bunch of government bum lickers.

lush Posted 11 October 2005 Author Posted 11 October 2005 Love it son. Your a cool dad. Isnt "stay" by avaline just brilliant, and the remix of annie lennox`s "the saddest song". Did you hear the remix of john lennons "imagine" at the end of a jules/pearce show about 6 weeks ago, they havnt played it since, and it is wicked.
Hitesh Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 I listen to radio1 the most, but i love 606 on 5 Live!

Didn't hear it mate, infact i've not listened to Pearce or Jules since the summer. I always used to love listening to Pearce on a sunday night after a heavy weekend, it would make you sane again. Stay is quality, my brother has it on vinyl. Not heard the remix of Annie Lennox, i'll get hold of it. I typed up a list of my favourite trance/house tunes ages ago. I'll find it and see what you think geezer.
Durnerz Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Dave Pearce's show on Sundays is class, reminds me of all the tunes of the night before
