That Stuart Nethercott is a great shout. During the time Spurs had some stars, one of my best mates got to go up as Mascot but also attend some training session and have food with the players etc etc, basically he got to spend a fair amount of time with and around the club, then walk out with the players and did the penalty shootout thing at half time. His favourite player was Stuart Nethercott who according to him, was not only probably their worst player in retrospect but also apparently the most boring man in the world. There's a wonderful picture, which for some reason doesn't hang in Rob's front room as a grown up, but definitely did in his Mum's front room when he was a boy, of a beaming Rob next to a beaming Stuart Nethercott. Apparently no one had ever before chosen Stuart Nethercott. I'm not sure who was more pleased.

 

He's still a Spurs fan; and still my mate. So there.
