Having watched the '78 World cup as the only English kid in the school in the North East of Scotland, I should never have got that wrong. One of the most enjoyable tournaments ever for me and we weren't even there.

Yep. I enjoyed that as their pre World cup humiliation. The football that followed was the cherry on top.

As an English kid in a Scottish school  in the 70's, it was not easy, I can assure you.

That line 'England cannae dae it cause they didnae qualify' was screamed in my face in playgrounds in the lead up to the finals. Then, instant karma got them lol

Previously went for Dick Malone of Sunderland but was not correct. I think you said he is a Sheffield United player but I can't get the name.
