Mr Weller Posted 16 October 2017 Posted 16 October 2017 Until now I was prepared to give Shakey a chance but tonight I saw a worrying lack urgency, suggesting the players are feeling lost. it seems Shakey lacks a vision and the ability to inspire. His post match interviews are all about tactics and on one level that's fine but leaders go beyond details and convey a whole sense of direction. Shakey is a little dull and uninspiratipnal, his voice betrays a lack of charisma and he appears out of his depth. However, I think there is a deeper malaise at the club and Shakey isn't wholly to blame, but unfortunately he does not appear to have the answer.
Tuna Posted 16 October 2017 Posted 16 October 2017 Instead of clogging the board by creating a new thread for your musings, perhaps you could have taken the time to have posted this in the various Shakespeare out threads already on here.
Mr Weller Posted 16 October 2017 Author Posted 16 October 2017 Bit harsh. Truth is, I sense a sea change after tonight and that's new. Extending a thread from three weeks ago is not necessarily a good thing.
Wallingtons-not-bald Posted 16 October 2017 Posted 16 October 2017 Agreed. Yes Craig should go, but I ask would my great club be able to attract following the dismissal of Claudio? Who would come? After the way we as a club, treated Claudio? Does the forum not believe "big name managers" and their agents do not speak to each other? Does the forum not think Claudio hasn't spoken to others managers? Be honest here.....Why would a big name manager or an up and coming manager come to this great club? What would attract him? Erm.....cold hard cash! Thats why now is the time for our owners to step up to the plate, it's time for the owners to pay big big money, to attract a name that makes our players shake in their sponsored boots! Nows the time to spend big, spend big on a big manager!

I'm tired of our club having to justify his sacking like we should meekly accept relegation. CR deserves the praise for the miracle he achieved. Sadly, he also deserved the sack.
Mr Weller Posted 16 October 2017 Author Posted 16 October 2017 We won few fans by sacking CR but we did save the season so it's hard to say it wasn't the right decision. My point is that Shakey showed he lacked something tonight which arguably could have been explained by other factors until now e.g. bad fixtures and no easier home games apart from Brighton. This was different, we had every reason to expect victory and yet looked slow and uninspired from the start. At times in the first half we seemed to be going through the motions.

Some commented in another thread that they work at the club and the atmosphere is not good at the club. Yes Shakespeare is out of his depth, and should be replaced as soon as possible, but with Claudio, and now Shakespeare experiencing similar sort of performances from the players, as a guess, there appears to be to much player power at the club, and to many ego's, so if there is a number of bad apples at whichever level, it's time to **** them off as well, no matter who they are.
