Leicester City Football Club can confirm that this year’s annual Service of Remembrance will take place at 1:30pm on Sunday 3 June at King Power Stadium.

The service, which will be led by Club Chaplain Andrew Hulley and Club Ambassador Alan Birchenall, sees hundreds of people gather at the Club’s Remembrance Garden each year.

An informal and dignified service takes places which celebrates the lives of loved ones no longer with us, while providing comfort to those who still grieve for them.

Club Ambassador Alan Birchenall said: “In recent years the Remembrance Service has become a very well attended event and gives much comfort to people during what can be very difficult times. The growing numbers show just how important the Remembrance Garden is to our wonderful supporters.”

Light refreshments will be provided following the service.

I wish they’d announce when they’re reopening or creating another garden. He current one is closed to new inhabitants and my dad is waiting to be placed there ? he died at the beginning of March and we’re just in limbo waiting for them to sort themselves out. The club have been as sensitive as a brick about it.

Lovely from our club.

This may come across as a little harsh however, you see posts on here and social media about people's loved ones who support us passing away and they ask for a minutes applause etc on a certain minute... I think the club should do a mass one at the end of every home game of every season for our fans and the opposition?

Would rather have it announced/published in the match day programme in a special fans' section, so that the decease's family can keep the magazine with their loved one appearing on it as a mark of respect towards all fans that have passed away and remembering them as keen followers of the club.

They do seem to get stuff like this right (most of the time). Does anyone know if they still do something for the Everton fan who was killed on his way to the stadium that day (2003 ish)?

A minute's applause at the end of every single home game for fans who have died? A touch morbid that. Save the recognition for either exceptionally tragic deaths or deaths of club legends, imo.
