Mad Dog Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 hmm a good right winger, whether he actually plays or not is another matter. Scowy will still be first choice on the right.
Hullfox Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Not guaranteed what proportion if any of his wages we'll be paying. Pompey might be happy for him to a) Gain first team football B) Be more in the shop window c) Impress over the four weeks so we have to take him.
mad biker Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Funnily enough, although this story is on the official site, the deal is not yet done !

Hullfox Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Can he play in goal too? 17702 :w00t: Very good Kerry
Guest Daniel Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Not the best signing he's done but not a bad player i spose.
discojoe Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 are we ppanning on keeping him after the month period
SilverFox Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 are we ppanning on keeping him after the month period 17727 Your guess is as good as anyone else's matey
Scow Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Not sure what to think of it. Harper is obviously a better winger than Scowcroft, but as Maddog said, Scowcroft is pretty much first choice there. Unless Micky plans to play Scowcroft left wing, with Harper on the right. He looked quite lively for the Pompey reserves last week, set up one of their goals.

Tiatto left wing, Harper right wing would be a nice prospect. But it's not going to happen. :w00t:
Guest Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 He won't drop Scarecrow.....maybe we're all panicking about Pressman being in goal.....maybe MA's got other plans........
Mark Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Average at best but still better than what we have on the wings before anyway. Get Scowcroft off the right wing and i'll be delighted, he's obviously just going to be moved to the left though.
Ash Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Dont know much about him , but i guess his better than Gillespie !
Cat Burger Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 WE NEED A LEFTWINGER MICKY!!!! 17719 He can play on both wings and played in central mid before. Mostly right wing though.
Mark Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 This is a Portsmouth fans view from another forum. kevin harper - football genius! roar the fratton end, in irony! kevin leaves with the good wishes of most pompey fans, myself included. this loan move will he hopes turn into a permanent deal. harper has a fiery temper and once in a while gets sent off for a bad tackle or dissent. however the flip side is, you are getting a 100%er. he has the ability to go past 3, 4 or even 5 players with pace and skill, all he needs is the final cross to the far post for a simple headed goal.......goal kick! he will score one or two contenders for goal of the season but you just wish that with all that ability he would be more consistent with his crossing. if that were to happen then kevin would be a multi million pound player. he can play anywhere on the right hand side from right back/midfield/winger or even up front as one of two strikers but don't ask him to head a ball as a striker, it just won't happen. we employed him as a wingback and this is i believe is his best position. kevin harper - football genius! So he'll be a wing back playing as a winger in 442 formation who cant cross but scores some cracking goals. Sounds like someone who already have? This version of him puts more effort into his game from the sounds of it though
Buzzell Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Decent signing. Looks like Scowy will play up front this weekend. Would rather see him up front then Dublin anyday.
SilverFox Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 I think Dublin will come good...in pre-season he tallyed six goals...he's got it in him to do it!...I hope
