It doesn't really matter who the club captain is as long as we have a variety of leaders on and off the pitch, ones who will be vocal and others who will lead by example

As mentioned previously he can be club captain but others can be team captain.

 

Club captain doesnt mean someone is a guaranteed starter. For example, I think Michael Carrick was club captain for Man Utd last season and hardly played.

It needs to be an outfield player who can readily speak with the referee and get a grip of teammates as situations arise. GKs can’t do that on the field. 

 

Kasper has the respect of the team and would be a shoe-in for the armband anywhere else on the pitch.
