urban.spaceman Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 Saw the thread title and my mind went momentarily back in time...
Wymsey Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 He has made some good contributions to the PFA - including helping bring millions of pounds into the organisation from the Premier League and being part of the initial team that help create the 'Kick it Out' campaign when it was first established. However, remember that he apparently had gambling-related problems in the past and in more recent times had also declined to explain as to why he's been on more money (£2m+) than others he works alongside. But the incident that has changed my mind more negatively about him in the role was comparing the Hillsborough disaster to the Ched Evans incident, when the latter one was being investigated. Still don't understand why he thinks there's 'similar' bad aspects with both, considering they're completely different case situations..
boots60 Posted 28 March 2019 Posted 28 March 2019 Bog standard player who got lucky. The upper echelons of the game no longer need the PFA but the less well off certainly do. His salary was obscene but hardly surprising.
