Searched for a Facebook thread as I thought we had one but nothing came up.

Anyway...

Anyone ever been hacked on Facebook and had trouble getting access back in to the account?

Someone in Vietnam tried to hack my account overnight and I got the standard FB e-mail to advise of this, and to check my security/account settings, which I've done.

It sends me back to FB homepage as expected, and asks me to verify my identity. I go through the steps (and have done so several times) but I get an error message saying 'sorry this feature isn't available right now' or it goes back to the start of the whole process saying 'someone tried to log in to your account' and then sends me back through the same process over and over again.

Tried the Recover my Account option but it says my e-mail isn't registered as disabled so they can't proceed with that.

Has anyone ever tried to contact Facebook? I've noticed there's no human support available i.e. no phone number and no live chat service. Some of the FAQs even say to log-in to resolve logging in problems lol

You are certain that the email you received was from Facebook?

Definitely.

Anything I've tried since (like getting verification codes) have been sent to e-mail. The sender matches the original e-mail I got in the night.

If ever in doubt always go through changing stuff through the website itself. Ignore links from emails etc

I can't though - it's not letting me log in so I can only change stuff before logging in, such as resetting my password which appears to be allowed but I constantly get this message:

I go to verify my identity which remains unsuccessful.

You could try going through a phone or a different browser(sometimes the browser screws up)

Otherwise I'm not sure what to try

Done that through the phone and IE and still get the same issue.

I may try leaving it a few days. I reinstalled the app on my phone to see if that would do anything but no luck. Interestingly though, looked on the reviews on Play Store and seems quite a few are having the same issue where they've been supposedly hacked, had to verify/identity themselves but get locked out suddenly.

If it says someone 'may' have accessed your account, it could mean that it's not from Facebook - particularly if they're not sure, themselves, it was someone else trying to access it. :dunno:

Even if that was the case, why would it not let me complete the verification process considering it knows the devices I use (only 2 listed which are mine) and allows me to change my password but not let me log in once changed?

Facebook are changing the way Groups work. Soon anyone outside a Group will be allowed to comment and post without membership.

So they can look forward to being spammed and trolled - Good idea.
