Over 1,000 league appearances ( & 1 goal! ) for his many clubs & 125 Full England caps, back when playing for England was the pinnacle of your career.  Would have been more if it wasn't for Ray Clemence.

Fantastic Keeper and worth several points a season. No wonder every Manager in the land wanted to sign him.

 

There are many games where he got a result for Leicester but the one stand that stands out for me is the first FA Cup semi-final in 1974 where he and Graham Cross played Liverpool on their own to earn a 0-0 draw.

 

A shame his departure was messy but it shouldn't detract from the performances he put in for the club. A true legend indeed.

I well remember the atmosphere in the Kop when he announced he wanted a move and was promptly dropped from the team.

The bad feeling lasted for several seasons.

But City had two world class keepers in the sixties and first half of the seventies.

Don't want to come back tomorrow and find a load of derogatory comment in this thread, he doesn't deserve half the sh*t he has had over the years.

filbert fox didn't leave under a cloud

 

it's a shame we've had two world class keepers at this club and neither of them are beloved by fans due to how they left.

He was great in the 70's but he was on the decline and over the hill for the Mexico 86 word cup, let alone Italia 90
