I was really disturbed by a Mercury article which suggested 46% of fans want him sold. I just don’t for the life of me understand that - would be ridiculously nonsensical to me to get rid of one of our brightest prospects.

Personally, I'd make him the first team keeper next season, Kasper can back him up, Ward and Jakupovic to leave.

We clearly thought that Kasper was leaving and wanted a replacement in. It was a lot of money even for a starting keeper but he did look good enough to take over. This season he seems to have got the back up mentality and I'd rather we sold him on to a championship team and got as much money back as possible

Iversen needs to be in the Championship at least next season, to give him a 5.5 year deal suggests we rate him very highly but it's rare that we'd consider players for our first team that are playing in League One and Two so the sooner he gets to a better standard to continue his progression the better.

Bit harsh to call Jakupovic terrible. He didn’t really let us down in his limited first team appearances did he? Certainly wasn’t forward thinking though as he was about 30. Think he was Zieler’s replacement. Anyone remember him?

Good signs for the future. Henderson at Sheffield United was in a similar position two years ago, at Shrewsbury near the top of League One. Hopefully something happens here.
