Sorry if he already has a thread I couldn’t find it.

Another impressive season for him. This time in League one.

Is it time for him to be part of the main squad next season or maybe go another level up and be loaned to a Championship team?

I’d like to think he’s primed to take Kaspers shirt for both club and country one day in the future.

I was really disturbed by a Mercury article which suggested 46% of fans want him sold. I just don’t for the life of me understand that - would be ridiculously nonsensical to me to get rid of one of our brightest prospects.

I've heard decent reports but the reality is he's not getting picked ahead of Kasper (33 years old) and Ward (26 years old) for a while.

You’re probably right but don’t understand what age has to do with it?

I should have elaborated.

He'll not get adequate gametime here for a few seasons (barring an injury crisis) as we have Kasper for the league and Ward for the cups. He'll want to play and we dont know if he'll want to settle somewhere else rather than continuing with one year loans here and there.

In which case, another season at Rotherham?

If they get promoted that would probably be a good fit if he’s happy there.

Fair comment. I hope he sees a big picture where he features for us in the future.

Can’t wait for the photo of Kasper handing Iversen the ball.

As long as he isn’t kicking it to him we will be alright.

WE have seen with many clubs, the clubs Top Gks are slowly or suddenly exchanged for new blood...

Kasper himself was the young new Talent on the block with other clubs....We have our own story to tell, that shocked many,...Banks >>>Shilton.

Its forums Members  or media, etc etc they put a presumptious idea down though its a fact...sometimes it rides for awhile positively or negatively pronounced.

...Why should we replace Kasper...!!

Then an injury,or Some young bock Bangs the door down, even Sneaks around the door,or a manager takes another turn of thought.....

Whats now,and differences in opinion is Not tomorrows....!!!!

Iversen’s playing right now in a top of the table clash with cov. He’s conceded one as have cov as they enter the 70th minute.

What's more baffling than the 46% that want him gone is that the Mercury have run a poll asking if fans want to get rid of a player I bet not many people know exists? lol

"Daniel who? Never heard of him. Sell" Brilliant.

He's only 22, could we hold on to him for another 3 years? I think that would be the time we may be at the first stages of flirting with a replacement for Kasper.

I like what I hear about Iversen, if I went off that alone I'd be happy to see him as number 2 sooner rather than later. Seems like he might have more longevity than Ward.

I've got a feeling he'll jump ahead of Ward in the pecking order. I don't know why. Maybe it's because he's playing way more football, he's getting good reviews and is supposedly well thought of here. The difficult one will be replacing Kasper, but if he gets a chance for us in domestic cups and a few league games (say in games before or after UCL games to keep Kasper fresh), he could replace Kasper before long.

What was the point in spending £12m in Ward? I think he’s a decent keeper but spending that much on a back up is unnecessary

Agree,I have nothing against Ward, good GK.

Probably could of forged a better career elsewhere.but hindsight is a wonderful thing,

most likely both sides thought,he would  get 30-40% more gametime. WE could say his badluck in timing, turned put to be our Good fortune, but it came at

at maybe £6-8mil cost over necessary budget. Not for the p!ayer, but the present situation...!!!

It was a large ammount but the club clearly wanted 2 number 1 keepers. You have to pay for that. Id rather be in our situation than west hams. Had Kasper been injured for a fair few games, we’d want someone to come in at a high level.

Its also probably succession planning. When Kasper goes I actually expect ward to take his spot.

I am genuinely convinced it was meant to be £1.25m and we messed up the fax or something.

These were the days before the Rudkinaissance after all.

I would still like to hope and believe ,that we invested in Iversen, for our future , our own benifit & cause..!!

Oh absolutely. Football needs competition, if Iversen is the better player I’m sure the club would use him. Simply, we don’t know that yet.

There was a good interview a while back. Think it was on the athletic, in which he hinted he knew the score and becoming no.1 at Leicester was a long term project. But he seemed happy with that, and getting his experience out on loan. Got the impression that as long as we are a Premier League Club and rate him as maybe one day good enough. He doesn't see any reason to leave.

His ambitions seem to be a no.1 keeper with a PL club and right now his best chance of that happening is here. Maybe not next season, but in the future. Moving down the divisions permanently doesn't seem to be part of his plan.

Agreed, of those 46%, I wonder how many are coming to that judgement with a sound knowledge of how good or not he really is or, what the club has planned for him and why? I think we have to trust the professionals with this one.
