And changes,during games...So he his pro-active.

Its the players on the pitch,who are Too passive,for long spells,and its the players,lack of something( confidence,mental discipline,concentration,fear!!)

that they have seemingly long periods,where they are too slow moving it from the back...

We have Ndidi,who as a DM,has some bite,and aggression. Outside him,all our midfielders are too nice. Yes they make those Silly tackles,but besides Periera,the CBs and Ndidi,we are allowing too often,the opposition too much free space when in midfield,it happens in Football but we tend to  let them run at us,too often.

We have dropped points,lost in the League cup,because we didnt close down somebodys run,from around both sides of the halfway line...

 

Maddison obviously should defend,but he is dropping too deep,or Picks the ball up too deep without any release possibility,except again sidewards..!!

This Shows to me,no matter how good,Choudhury,Tielemans,and Praet are,without Ndidi we Dont have that extra bite,in the middle of the park,despite Choudhurys growing undeserved reputation.  Or Choudhury Maybe Praet have been told to walk a more cautious line..

 

In trying to Play the neat & clever football,of Late we seem to  have lost that aggression & Passion in midfield. Its a confidence & mental thing,but definitely not imo,a Motivation issue...

 

Vardy,Albrighton,Ndidi,Soyu,Evans,Ricardo,have that bite and push in their play...When we have injuries,then its missing,either up front,or in midfield.

Make no mistake,its the Maddisons & Tielemans  even Praet they give us that improved Technical quality,the hardballs,that extra push,drive aggression with a bit and occasional  Stripe  of nastiness,has to come from somewhere else....I might be mistaken but Choudhury seems to have been asked to hold back,and its ruining his allround game,and confidence in committing to ' his' game....it seems Klopp utterences,as been allowed to get to us...

But were they too nice in the first half of the season or have they just become nice since Christmas.

 

The fact remains they were brilliant earlier in the season  and now they aren’t and bad luck is unlikely to be the reason. Some say it’s a lack of confidence but there’s no reason to lack confidence when you’ve done so well. 
 

Time and again people will trot out the argument that they should be motivated, playing for Leicester should be all the motivation they need, or in this case Champions League should motivate players but fear is a greater motivator than pleasure and there’s been little fear when they’re 10 points clear.

 

Simply saying young players will always have their ups and downs or they over performed in the first half of the season so now they’re underperforming in the second half is not an explanation as to why it happened at Christmas and has been so pronounced since then.

 

Lack of motivation is plausible and Man City have suffered from the same. If your league season appears effectively over by January you’re bound to lack the intensity that comes from being in a tight race.

Could it be that the players are working too hard in training which is leaving them tired in Matches. Something is not quite right within the group.

Has something happened behind the scenes were not being told.

 

I watched MOTD on Saturday, And the work rate from the Wolves players particularly against Utd was amazing, Especially when you consider that they played on Thursday in Europe.

 

Lately we're nowhere near that level of performance and that's down to the players efforts aside from any Technical issues with the squad etc.
