String fellow Posted 5 March 2020 Posted 5 March 2020 In both the League Cup and the FA Cup this season, we've been drawn against the team that put out Liverpool in the previous round. Not sure if that's a good or bad omen for the Chelsea game.
oxford blue Posted 5 March 2020 Posted 5 March 2020 Third place in PL at this stage in the season would have seemed great at the start of the season. Everyone would be really optimistic if we were part way through our winning run. However if the form over last 12 games (12 points) had been replicated over whole of season, we would be in a relegation zone. It is therefore unsurprising there is negativity on forums; the team may have 'over-achieved' in being second in table, but now the form does not reflect the talent in the squad. No doubt some VAR decisions have not helped, as have injuries - although most teams have been without key players at various stages. Having said that, I remain optimistic in turning the slump around; I feel a a win v Villa (especially if Vardy scores) could be the start of a good end to the season (although the game v Watford in 9 days could be the most difficult to get points from).
