Guest Posted 16 March 2020 Posted 16 March 2020 96 for me. 94 was special because we beat Derby and our first foray into the PL. However we were a poor side and were outplayed that day. Was great fun to win but we were bloody lucky. 96 we played Palace off the park in the main and my god what drama. Incredible way to win. My wonderful grandad was a dour bugger a lot of the time but thinking back to his celebrations that day at Wembley will never fail to bring a tear to my eye. RIP. That was the start of a top notch team too. The likes of Izzet Heskey and Lennon just coming to the fore. From where we were in the table about 3 months before that game was nothing short of miraculous.

foxfanazer Posted 16 March 2020 Posted 16 March 2020 2000 purely for the fact that it was my first and only time at the old Wembley. Truly magical!
Chicago Foxile Posted 18 March 2020 Posted 18 March 2020 Torn between 94’ and 96’. Lucky enough to be at Wembley for both. Will settle on 96’- time stood still the moment the ball left the shin of Claridge. The scenes behind the goal were brilliant- ended up several ‘benches’ (bleacher style back then) in front and had to climb back. Tina Turner’s ‘The Best’ blasting out as the Palace fans took their leave. We didn’t know at the time but we had some great years ahead. Good times
