For us to challenge for trophies we need to keep ALL our star men from now on. We are at a stage where our top players stay for 2 or 3 seasons then get lead off to one of the so called "big 6".

You would hope that where we are now on the pitch, the new training complex (best in Europe I here !), and the.proppsed new development of the east stand taking capacity to 42,000 would help convince our top boys to stay?.

 

But only when we CAN compete season after season for honours and WIN our share will we generally keep out top.men & win things and compete in Europe to !.

 

Let's hope we can find a way in next 2 years & then start winning things. BLUE ARMY !!

It’s not quite how it works though, I see your point, but to challenge we need to sell and reinvest wisely - we simply don’t have the financial power of those too 6 clubs.

We sold Chilwell, we bought in Fofana and Costange - thus improving the squad.

Even the top 6 teams lose players to Real Madrid, Barca and Bayern.

Is that still true since Man City blew a hole in FFP? Clearly LCFC have a reputation for doing things by the book, the right way. But they don't have to anymore.
