I didn't notice until the groundsman was collecting them in as I was half way down the steps on the way out. I mentioned it to the bloke that sits next me who'd never heard of it and probably thought I was taking the piss.

I saw this old New York Times article on triangular corner flags , including a tidbit about Rodgers at Liverpool.

"Liverpool, which has won the F.A. Cup seven times, currently uses square flags. But Done said staff members at the club had experience with the triangular flag debate.

After Brendan Rodgers was appointed Liverpool’s manager in 2012, he stated his intention to return as many traditional elements as possible to Anfield, the club’s famed stadium. Done said that on that list were the likes of red nets, which the club had used in the past (the current Reds manager Jürgen Klopp prefers white); hanging the oldest possible “This is Anfield” sign in the tunnel leading to the field; and, yes, triangular corner flags.
