I remember it as a rugby song

To his horse, to his horse

He was saying goodbye to his horse

And as he was saying goodbye to his horse

He was saying goodbye to his horse

I know!!

Remember singing 'Goodbye Horse' many times in the 80s. Loved it when I first heard it as a kid, was always amused by its non-relevance to football. Up there with 'I had a wheelbarrow', another classic

I've no recollection of the horse song at all. ''When You're Smiling'', ''You Are My Sunshine'' and ''Molly Malone'' are the songs I remember hearing sung in the 70s and 80s. And every now and again, on special occasions, ''Under the Moon of Love'' was given an airing.

Is anyone old enough to remember this gem from the mid 50s?
