Here's a six minute tribute to a great voice. 

 

Man U v West Brom 1978.

 

Gerald is the Granada commentator but he obviously has no pro-Man U bias. He calls out the racist chanting, unlike other commentators of the time. Then comes the moment - one of the greatest goals ever, with one of the greatest ever pieces of commentary. I still get chills watching, and listening to this.

Great commentator, great voice. Will forever associate him with late night MOTD roundups that my parents let me stay up for. That was where Leicester usually got shoved back in the 90s.

Fine broadcaster but the post match comments and the Atkinson / Sexton interview felt like a fast show skit
