Never bought any myself, but for the majority of investors, I understand it acts as a pretty stable investment for a risk averse approach. Not sure if you're talking about purchasing through a brokerage account. .......and that's the limit of my knowledge!

Gold goes up when the stock market is down and vice versa. Short and medium term it fluctuates a lot, but long term it is almost always a sound bet.

I bough some once ….  it was a good few years ago now and cost me a few bob.  I thought it was money well spent ..   but I was soooo wrong. It turned out to one of the worst decisions of my life.

 

And not only that but it also hurts  ..  especially when she threw it at me and it got me in the eye ..

Probably that particular bit of gold on the wedding ring which she didn’t seem to like ….   cus she kept the gold on the engagement ring !  ..   how strange ..
