HankMarvin Posted 21 March 2022 Posted 21 March 2022 (edited) Leicester are latest club to show an interest in Chukwubuike Adamu after the Salzburg forward, 20, burst onto the scene with impressive displays in the Champions League Leicester have joined the list of clubs keeping tabs on Red Bull Salzburg forward Chukwubuike Adamu. Interest is continuing to grow in the 20 year-old who is enjoying a breakout season with the Austrian champions. His progress in Austria’s top division and emergence on the Champions League stage has also alerted Leicester’s rivals , Marseille and Monaco in and a number of sides. Adamu has been in impressive form in the last month, securing a regular starting spot in the Salzburg side and scoring three times in his last seven appearances, including a Champions League last-16 strike against Bayern Munich. Adamu, rated in the £15m bracket, has also made a step up at international level this season, earning his first call-up to Austria’s senior side and a first cap in November. He was born in Nigeria who showed interest in making Adamu a full international but he has opted to continue with Austria who he was prolific for at youth level. Adamu gained his first senior experience playing for FC Liefering, Salzburg’s reserve side, scoring 26 times in 49 appearances across three seasons in Austria’s second tier. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Swiss side FC Gallen, netting eight goals in 18 games and has returned to Salzburg this season. In total he has made 35 appearances during 2021/22 though only 16 of those have been starts with Adamu scoring seven times and setting up three more goals. Edited 21 March 2022 by HankMarvin 2
-sodapop Posted 21 March 2022 Posted 21 March 2022 (edited) I've watched a bit of his play while looking at Adeyemi. Would certainly not be one for first team consideration off the bat. mozartfox Posted 22 March 2022 Posted 22 March 2022 For 15m - he would be well worth a punt. Can play on the right wing as well as down the centre. I cannot see him being a starter, but for sure a project for Rogers. Despite having an Austrian Passport, he is from Nigeria so will settle in well with his Countrymen and must know Patson.
