If it was that bad he should have resigned then, happy to take the £££££s

Well there is that point, but if you had the chance to secure your family’s financial future, even in shit conditions you probably would.

He was desperate to succeed here, didn’t work out but he truly cared about the club.

When Holloway joined on the 22/11/07 we were 15th in the League.

In his time we spent £1.5m on Howard and £500K on Oakley plus other signings that may or may not have been Mandarics. Those 2 players under Pearson managed to get us promoted from L1 and then to the Championship play-offs under Pearson

We ended up 22nd

I know I've read his book but caring is not enough. By staying and leading us to our lowest ever position, losing our status as one of very few clubs that had never been below the 2nd tier he was complicit in that.

He's not the worse manager we've had but he carries the blame along with Mandaric for that historic decline.

Whilst I can’t argue with the stats above, the rot had absolutely set in and the club was doomed regardless of who we had at the helm.

Yep agreed.

That's just conjecture, starting at 15th no matter what the background I can just as easily say there is not a single reason why we couldn't have survived, I'm pretty sure Pearson would have kept us up and he had to deal with Mandaric.

It's all in the past and can't be change or proven we'll all have and stick to our own views on this.

Mandaric is the main enemy bought us for £25m? took us down after promising to get us to the PL in 3 seasons and sold us for £40m?

That wasn't a fact, I just judge him on the way he manipulated his control of the club, the way he then messed it up with dodgy dealings and transfers putting the club in serious debt so I don't believe he was a trustworthy or honourably businessman. If he did find them I doubt he had any concerns as to their respectability and trustworthiness. We just lucked out.

I suspect you’re right…. Mandaric always struck me as a bit ‘iffy’

Selling us was just good business then…

I predicted absolute doom and us dropping a further league when Mandaric sold us.

Mandaric was seriously thinking about selling the club to a Polish businessman, but apparently the latter didn't have proof of where the investment promised would have come from.

The selling to Top and Vichai was really a blessing to the club, with LCFC being in a very bad state; two very good people, and particularly with Susan Whelan's expertise coming on board with King Power too.

This was a mental time to be a Leicester fan.

Absolutely bonkers. I remember the pre-season friendly against Portsmouth (i think) and there was just a stream of shit being subbed on by Martin Allen. I had that and Bernie sat next to me giving the Arghhh to the about 4 away fans that were sat in the opposite corner of the ground.

A few months after buying the club he bought the house opposite mine to use as a crash pad instead of using hotels. Had it completely refurbished, installed a gym, stayed for a maybe a day or two each month. Wrote to the 5 neighbours in the close apologising for the building work and invited us to a game as his guest. Sat with us for lunch, gave the kids a kit each and we sat in the directors box. Gave us his EA’s number and said just let her know if we wanted tickets for any future games.

He told my neighbour who he bought the house from that the house cost more than the club, I’ve no reason to believe either were bullshitting. Milan bought it for £550,000.

The Thais came round at the time to view the house, I assume out of courtesy, but when you’re worth that much our little estate wasn’t going to cut it.

Fun times.

His old house still has Milan’s blue front door and foxes head door knocker.
