Why is it always about Liverpool? Some us were wearing sports shoes in 1976/77. It was first wave punk that started it with Dunlop Green Flash and there were no denim flares. Having grown up through both era's I'd conclude that punk/New Wave had the biggest influence on attitudes, culture and fashion that is still very evident today.

I liked the one of the phrases used to advertise the casuals exhibition in Liverpool.

 

"In the 1970's Liverpool supporters used to go to European away cities to buy the fashions not yet available in the UK"

 

To buy!!!!!!

 

Don't think much money changed hands
