Why aren’t Leicestershire/ Leicester part of this? It’s a bit crazy seeing as we are the biggest city in the region.

Soulsby doesn't want to have a Leicester  & Leicestershire combine Mayor probably because he knows he would lose. Without that Mayor we can't join it as I believe it's part of the criteria set out by the government. It's all or nothing so we have nothing. 

We're also losing the opportunity for billions of £££s from the government because of this and his intransigence and virtual dictatorship, At least that's how I interpret it from the information in the public domain.

Bit harrowing isn’t it, that the general public of Leicestershire / Leicester haven’t been consulted on this. Soulsby needs to be binned asap.

We weren’t even consulted on having an elected mayor in the first place. There should have been a referendum. If a Labour council decide to have a mayor in Leicester, it’s a de facto Labour mayor. The fact that he is now going on into his mid 70s, it just seems to have become a power grab for Soulsby rather than anything else.

Cos it's Leicester, no-one in the country gives a shit about Leicester, remember the covid lockdown? the whole country came out of lockdown except Leicester and everyone else kept quiet about it just in case they got forced back into lockdown as a punishment for speaking out.

Derby and Nottingham though are such bum boys. They can't get enough of each other.
