willy37 Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 for anyone who went leeds, just wondering what the atmosphere at and around the game was today, as lots of leeds fans were making childish threats etc.
Jay Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 for anyone who went leeds, just wondering what the atmosphere at and around the game was today, as lots of leeds fans were making childish threats etc. I didn't see a hint of trouble to be fair except for the Leeds fan who thought he was really hard having a go at the Leicester fans while hiding behind a couple of stewards after they scored the second goal as for the atmosphere it was a great in the Leicester end didn't hear a single song from the Leeds Kop until the 93rd minute and then they only have 2songs!!! they made the Walkers Stadium sound like a Motorhead concert!!!
holly Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 our support was good!! didnt see any trouble, i saw that guy making them threats aswell!! made me laugh! how bad was there crowd though, the guy on the tanoy was trying well hard to get them going and it just wasnt happening! they are shocking, no one can ever moan about lack of atmosphere at walkers again, as ours is 100 x better than at elland road! and the only thing they seem to know is we are leeds!! (get a new song) and when they sing you`ll never walk alone they even need help as they have to play the song in the background hahahahaha!!!
Milky Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 you'll never walk alone? i thought that just liverpool and celtic. don't u mean. marching on together
holly Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 you'll never walk alone? i thought that just liverpool and celtic. don't u mean. marching on together thats the one !!!!! anyway it was poo
spirefox Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 Saw no trouble at all.Had an enjoyable pre match drink watching Liverpool-Wigan & having a laugh with Leeds fans about Crouch's first "goal".The only downer was losing after absolutely mullering them .
Babylon Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 I drank in several Leeds pubs and the lads we spoke to (leeds fans) were all sound. The leeds atmosphere was shocking. I thought our away support was also poor to be honest, apart from the 20 lads around me no one else seemed to bother. Also, the blonde girl was with the white coat, white scarf, blue jeans and white trainers... you are lovely. Ha.
cisono Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 We certainly didn't hear much noise on the radio...
Steven Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 We certainly didn't hear much noise on the radio... Any noise from the Leeds fans until it was all over.
cisono Posted 3 December 2005 Posted 3 December 2005 Any noise from the Leeds fans until it was all over. Yep. What were they up to during the match?!?!?
holly Posted 4 December 2005 Posted 4 December 2005 Yep. What were they up to during the match?!?!? sittin there!! and occasionly stretching to we are leeds!!
Babylon Posted 4 December 2005 Posted 4 December 2005 Or standing up. The whole of the stand at the other end of the ground was stood for almost all the game. While anyone in our section who even thought about standing up got shouted at by the police or a steward. I got warned twice and told if I stood again I would be thrown out!!! I had to stand as people in front of me were bloody standing... I was close to chinning he steward.

I nearly gave you Best Avatar vote but if you'd whacked the steward I'd certainly have had you down for something, perhaps "Best Muckraker" PS: "Muckraker" was a term applied to the punches a wonderful Chatteris-based light welterweight Dave "Boy" Green, a country farmhand who started with his fist by his feet then wound up to give his opponents a spectacular walloping. Never renowned for sophistication in the ring he was a hugely popular 100 per cent entertainer on RAH and Wembley bills that often featured Alan Minter (and John H Stracey) if memory serves me. He was in the St Ives stable of Andy Smith who was manager of Joe Bugner (opponent of Muhammed Ali). Joe had a belting car number plate for his gold Rolls Royce ......ONE ON U

Guest Posted 4 December 2005 Posted 4 December 2005 you'll never walk alone? i thought that just liverpool and celtic. don't u mean. marching on together I think the song is actually 'Leeds, Leeds, Leeds', and it is on my list of all-time worst songs ever. Thankfully they didn't play the full version before the game, as it has this annoying habit of sticking in the brain, I suspect it's one of those hypnotherapy techniques to try to convert the susceptible. Having said that, even if they had played it, I would not have heard it, as the volume was so loud for the Tin Tin Out record, my ears have only just stopped bleeding. As for the Leeds support, after the Soton game, I was expecting more, weren't they the reason Leeds came back? Unbelievable.

So much so he was knocked out before he even hit the ground.
Guest Gist Posted 4 December 2005 Posted 4 December 2005 I was surprised how quiet the Leeds fans were considering how loud they were down the walkers I liked it how every time they sang we love leeds we sang we hate leeds And to the bloke who started of ' shove ya yorkshire puddings up your arse' nice one
Chimp Posted 4 December 2005 Posted 4 December 2005 Also, the blonde girl was with the white coat, white scarf, blue jeans and white trainers... you are lovely. Ha. Thank you!
holly Posted 4 December 2005 Posted 4 December 2005 Thank you! ooooohhhh could this be love, love love!! hehe!!!
Thracian Posted 4 December 2005 Posted 4 December 2005 He was also in the mismatch of the Century when he stepped into the ring against Sugar Ray Leonard. So much so he was knocked out before he even hit the ground. Yeah. Stepped right out of his class that night but generally his fights were packed full of incident and he had a really good following from the Cambridgeshire area where he was known as "The Fen Tiger".
Katy Posted 5 December 2005 Posted 5 December 2005 Yep. What were they up to during the match?!?!? They were basically waving scarves round like imbeciles and pointing at us obviously not used to seeing a whole new set of gene pools. The odd 'song' when they scored for about two seconds and that, my friend, was about it.

Katy Posted 5 December 2005 Posted 5 December 2005 Were they singing? I thought it was their pies and ale repeating on them. Maybe, the bursts of noise were so short and infrequent it was difficult to tell
