Welcome Break have massively upped their game over the past few years but they still have older sites requiring investment.

Moto and Roadchef sites are usually all frigged.

Extras are pretty good.

Gloucester and Tebay are next level.

 

Toddington needs flattening. As well as being like Hiroshima in ‘46, it’s full of thieving gypsies.

 

I am big believer in layout, setting and general vibes. For example, i have a soft spot for places like Clacket Lane Clockwise and Hartshead Moor, neither of which have the best facilities.

They shouldn't be allowed to charge for stopping more than 2 hours.  One of their legal obligations is to allow drivers a place to rest and recuperate, and who are they to say that no driver ever needs more than 2 hours' rest?

Like everything else in this country, they've been allowed precisely so that private firms will take hold of it. Much the same as student loans having hideous interest rates attached.
