Just seen him on the tv doing an early run. Dancing around to no real effect and going sideways more than forwards. Now watch the sod win....

A win for the everyman, the little guy, as usual! It’s miraculous how the biggest owner and trainer with a huge proportion of the runners have managed to dominate the placings.

Completely agree. Making the race safer by making the obstacles smaller and reducing the distance by 1/4 mile means higher quality horses are entered. So the big yards/owners will dominate.

 

As for the fences being made easier (height and stiffness), I Am Maximus would not have won the national if the changes hadn't been made.

 

Its a glorified hurdle race in most parts.
