davieG Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 Didn't catch it myself apparently he said something along the lines of: He won't walk away from the current situation. He's fined Connolly 2 weeks wages. As the buck stops with him He's hinted at wholesale changes for tomorrow e.g. a start for Stearman.
Ric Flair Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 Well if he's not going then atleast it will be nice to see Stearman and Wright given a chance. Micky looks to be ready to ring the changes, is it too late? Or will this be the turning point? Quite frankly i'm not arsed, just sort it someone, please.

davieG Posted 27 September 2004 Author Posted 27 September 2004 Stewart Out Connolly out Blake out Dublin doubtful Tiatto, Wright, Stearman In the Squad as is Heath Adams Hints At Changes Micky Adams has suggested he may ring the changes for Tuesday night's trip to the Priestfield Stadium to take on Gillingham. Adams saw his side go down 3-2 to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday - despite holding a 2-0 lead at half time. The City boss is already without the suspended duo Jordan Stewart and David Connolly for the Championship clash - the later picking up two yellow cards on Saturday at Loftus Road which led to a sending off and an instant one-match ban. And Adams also confirmed that Nathan Blake would be unavailable for the fixture after injuring his toe at the weekend. But speaking ahead of the game the Foxes chief revealed their absence would open the door for others to come in - including a trio of youngsters. He said: "We have to make changes. Nathan Blake has gone for an x-ray on a big toe so he is definitely out. I will have to have a look at the rest of the side. "Dion Dublin has got a bit of a hamstring problem. We will assess him tomorrow morning (Tuesday). "But Matty Heath will come into the equation for the game against Gillingham, as will Tommy Wright and Richard Stearman. "Danny Tiatto will also come into the equation so we may well tinker with the side."
Ric Flair Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 Best news we've had in a long while, I wish I was able to attend the match. Come on Stearman and Wrighty, in you get.
Scow Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 Get Dawson in the side in place of Gemmill and we're laughing.
Mark Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 About time you idiot. Three years its took him. Shame he's forgot about Stephen Dawson.
Babylon Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 About time you idiot. Three years its took him. Shame he's forgot about Stephen Dawson. 22366 you think he should of played Stearman at the age of 13????????????

You know what i meant so why try to be sarcy about it. I know you're probably depressed about reading what he's said, i mean, no Blake, no Dublin, how you going to cope?

Great news though, let's hope Dawson gets his chance soon too. I'm sure if he continues to sparkle, he will do. Starting tonight against Spurs.
foxesfan69 Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 he should at least start with Elliot and Keown at the back, very solid(i suppose <_< ) Big trev and Wright up front i say

B) Jesus mate, do you need a humour transplant or what!!! As for blake, i have said numerous time we should not have bought the guy when we had Wright, Scow and Benji as cover already. What i have done though is say give the guy a chance if MA decides he should play. People were booing and slagging him off after a few substitute appearances for christs sake. If Tommy Wright gets a game, a few goes as sub and is shit, what will you do?? Will you boo him, call for his head and brand him a disgrace to the club like you have Blake?? No, you will sit there and say he needs more time. Time you weren't prepared to give Blake. Hipocracy is rife on this forum.
Oli Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 Okay then mate i will get it out his arse when you get it out of Micky's.
Babylon Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 Okay then mate i will get it out his arse when you get it out of Micky's. 22469 At least i dare to be different.... your a sheep. Baaaaa. End of storey.
Babylon Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 I'm a sheep how you work that out? 22474 Forget it, i'm only playing. Lets just leave it i'm not in the mood to argue!
SilverFox Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 Dave Bassett has 'laughed off reports' the Micky Adams was ever considering walking out on Leicester City...well I'm glad someone can laugh! Wanted to post this last night but my computer decided to give up the ghost:- Micky said in the post match interview that either he would have to try to fix the clubs problems or it would be someone else doing it (intimating that he might be leaving). He said this quite clearly and he said it twice...I think the man will walk. I also heard rumour that there would be a press conference tomorrow (tho this may be something I have misheard from the radio) Either way I am sad to say that my faith has dwindled and that although I have admiration and respect for Micky, there is nothing more he can do for this club. I find myself relieved that I have to go to the college of Law for a study weekend next Saturday (relieved that I don't have to watch what can only be loosely described as football), I never thought I would ever feel that way The only word I can use to describe how I feel now is sad. I am deeply sorry it hasn't worked out for you Micky, but the honorable thing to do now is walk! You had a good little run with us and I am grateful for your achievements...but I am starting to feel like the club would be better under a new manager with new Ideas. That you have failed to address the issue of conceding late goals and losing leads is no longer acceptable...it was barely acceptable last year (behind the excuse that everyone expected us to lose), but it can't go on any longer! ANY football club would not allow such a problem to persist from one season in to the next. Leicester City should be no exception! You don't know what to do to fix the problem so the solution is sad but clear...you must go. You will always have my kindest regards but sorry...my faith is lost
Buzzell Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 About time he looks over to the youths!! Now that he's under pressure he seems to be doing better things! Time for the youngs ones to impress!!
Hoof Fox Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 As i live in Preston i dont tend to hear too many of the interviews MA gives but they did a piece on him being under pressure on Radio Lancashire tonight and to give Micky credit he sounded a lot more determined and enthusiastic than in recent interviews that I have heard. He seemed more bullish and I have to admit I was impressed by what he said. Maybe this could be the making of him to fight back in such adversity. IMO after La Manga he seemed to lose that spark and enthusiasm but listening to him tonight he sounded more like the Micky Adams of pre La Manga. Maybe these recent results have made him realise that he is not infalliable and that he could well lose a job with a club that may well be his only hope of managing in the premiership. I for one have been quite dismayed at Adams this season but yet after listening to him today I felt there is maybe life in the old dog yet. Perhaps there may be a sting in the tail, this may be another watershed for LCFC similar to MON vs Sheff Utd. Come On Micky prove all us doubters wrong. I would love it just love it if (a la Keegan) we go on a run and Micky makes me eat humble pie and rams my words back down my throat. I think we may see the old Micky Adams spirit return. Come on !!!!

Now I am not saying DC was in the right in any way, I saw the silly elbow and he has to walk, but to lay the blame on him, come on Micky!! own up to the fact you screwed up again for a change with messing with the formation, which up until then looked like it might be working. (Blue Mistress could give a better answer there as she went to the match) Now a shuffle round in personnel if we had lost a defender might be in order, but not a attacker, you just shove the lone guy up on his own , give him as much service as you can, keep it tight but don’t sit in your own back yard and just do what was working until the sending off.

But I agree, there was no need to unsettle what looked like a comfortable defence that was doing a good job protecting Pressman
